Metronidazole gel

I used the metronidazole gel a day before I found out I was pregnant and now I have to wait all the way until Monday to call my doctor and make sure my baby will be fine, I'm just curious if any pregnant women have used the metronidazole gel because of off balance ph levels and did it cause their child any harm

I was prescribed the gel due to BV while in my 3rd tri. I'm fine and my kid has all the right body parts.

I have had to use the gel twice already in my pregnancy... Once at 9 weeks and then again at 15... Hoping that is the last but if I have to do it again I will.... My babies look perfect so far... Bv can be dangerous in pregnancy so treating it is essential... Sorry you are dealing with it

I have had to take it twice as well. Once at 6 weeks and again at 10weeks. Like everyone else has said BV is dangerous if left untreated it can cause preterm labor. So you will be fine. Hope things go well for you.

Metronidazole has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA when used intravaginally or topically

If the metro gel doesn't clear it up ask your doctor about an oral med...some women respond better to that.  If mine comes back we will be doing the oral prescription not the gel.
