Is this crib dark cherry because I ordered espresso? (Munire)

Hello!

So, I purchased the Munire Keyport crib in espresso from Buy Buy Baby.  My receipt, the delivery man and recall registration card all say "espresso" but I'm having my doubts.  When crib arrived today, it was very cloudy outside and looked like this (see "crib 1" photo).  It sure looked espresso to me upon delivery.  A couple hours later, the sun came out and now I see this ("crib 2" photo).  My, oh, my, that sure looks like a lot of cherry in an espresso color.   Maybe I don't know what 'espresso' is since I don't drink coffee (ha), so please enlighten me if you're an expert on wood colors.

I understand lighting may be playing a trick on me, but the second photo makes the crib look so dark cherry, which I personally don't care for.

What do you all think?

(Edited crib name as I had it incorrectly listed as "Keystone")

  • I agree with PP too. There is a big variance with espresso. I have 2 espresso dressers from baby cache, which i think is the same as munire and I really like the color. Ive had one dresser over 3 years and it has held up very well.

  • 1. I had no idea espresso included red tones.

    2. I didn't realize matching espresso would be hard. I bought mismatch furniture (crib, dresser and glider) all 'allegedly' in espresso and they all match -- albeit have that red tone. I guess I lucked out.

How is dark cherry different from espresso then?

I so appreciate your answers above! Thank you! :-D
