newborn second day in cloth question

My son is 5 days old today! This is his second day in cloth and we are loving it!!!!!! We have, however, noticed some peeling skin around the waist band and legs when we change him. I have put some cjs on it. It doesn't look like it bothers him and I don't think the diapers are too tight. I am now making sure they are almost to loose.

Is this common? What are your thoughts?

I think if I remember from my son's NB days that's normal. Their skin seems extra dry because instead of basting in amniotic fluid all they get is plain ole air.

Yup, we went from peeling skin at the waist of the diaper to peeling skin all over to a mess of newborn acne with peeling skin. Hishands and feet are all dry and peely now and his face and neck are bumpy. They get cute eventually.
