What amazes me, and correct me if I'm wrong-I don't watch the show, but how all of her kids fit her 'mold' so perfectly. I mean, have any done ANYTHING to go against what the parents believe? And not necessarily intentionally (a LA teenage rebellion) but no one is any different than the parents? The whole family is just odd to me.

I know what you mean. All these kids and not one is anything but a miniature Jim Bob or Michelle. I keep waiting for one to be diagnosed with autism or something, I mean the odds are just there. Then again, I honestly think they would just hide it.

I read the article. It is well written. I do like how the mom reached out to Michelle. I do not agree that Big Brother is better than the Duggar clan. I remember hearing of racist and anti-gay house guests so that part of the article is lost on me. I will play devils advocate. We do not want the Duggars to judge others but than we judge them. Do I agree with their life no but I am not going to judge and make assumptions. I respect their decision to raises their kids as they see fit as I will do the same for mine.

It's not chance or fate that did this. It's that they were given no options. Parents generally take time to get to know their children, learn their quirks and figure out who each individual child is. They have not. Instead they use blanket training and coercion to create robot children who cannot think for themselves. Other than displaying them on TV like a circus act they don't allow them access to the outside world to grow and learn and discover who they are as individuals. Every move they make is overseen by a parent or older sibling to ensure they're falling in line with the brand name... I mean family.

Every time I see a screen name with "Princess" in it, I know they are going to say something crazy. You have proved me correct.

You can't say "oh well, they blanket train and teach hate, they keep their 19 kids in 2 bedrooms so no one will touch themselves and "sin",  and as long as those kids are happy it's OK." 

Gross. They live in a commune/cult. Side hugs are not normal. I don't side hug my kids, my father, my friends. Hugging does not mean people are going to drop and bone.  I just can't anymore with the Duggar crap.

I did not say anything about being happy so it is ok.

I said I do not agree with their life but I choose not to judge them. They have a right to raise their kids as they see fit. Same as I have a right to do so with my children.

It's the fact that she a "celebrity" haha, and  she is making a very public statement that is offensive, discriminatory, and she trying to stop new laws that would protect  AN ENTIRE GROUP OF PEOPLE who have been discriminated and treated awful hell yea I judge that.

I think " the how they raise their children" came in to the thread after your initial post. That is why I made mention . 

I do not agree with her position  to the law as I previously stated and her reasoning behind her position was disturbing. 

I also do not watch reality tv so I do not know alot about their parenting style other than what I have read.

When the show first came on, I was impressed by them. I thought wow, what a great family. Theae kids are so well behaved. They budget so well. Everyone seems happy and full of love. Why does it matter to me if they have a million kids.....

And then I started paying attention and reading stories about them. These kids are trapped in a bubble of Dugger. They have little to no meaningful outside contact. I've watched a few episodes here and there lately and you can really see how isolated they truly are. I just feel sad for them now. I would hope that as more if them get older, they will be exposed more to the outside world and will not continue with the hate mongering of their parents.


Btw...since I'm assuming this was all sparked by Michelle's robocall, the Fayetteville city council has voted to allow transgendered people the right to use the bathroom that they feel most comfortable with. The discussion went on until 3am before th
ey finally voted.

All of this, word for word. It's not the fact that she's chooses not to get to know her kids for who they are and expect them to 'fit the mold' (which is bad enough). It's about the fact that she is making derogatory, misguided comments about something which she knows nothing (clearly). She's a figure head, however bad of one, and she will get judged for her comments just like anyone else who says something ignorant and stupid.
