Threatened Miscarriage at 14 weeks

I am having another issue. I went to the doctor Wednesday because of some bleeding and they told me I was having a threatened miscarriage. Has other people with multiples had this? I did some research online and most of the information I was able to find said it happened much earlier in the pregnancy. Some of the blogs I looked at though had some positive outcomes. I want to see what other peoples were. The babies did still have heartbeats when I was there for the bleeding but they said it's still possible to loose them. My bleeding has since slowed way down and is more like a brownish color just when I wipe.

Any feedback would be much appreciated!

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I have no experience with threatened m/c. They weren't able to pinpoint a source of the bleeding like previa or a sch?

I'm sorry you're going through this! I had bleeding around this time also, and they never were able to determine the cause of the bleed. Did they give you any instructions like rest, etc?

I also had bleeding during week 12 and was terrified. It lasted about 3 days. Babies were fine And no source for the bleeding was ever found.

I had heavy bleeding (like soaking through my panties) with my twins around 12 weeks, but the source was never determined, and everything was fine. Good luck to you.

Sorry your going through this, I was told in the ER that they consider any form of bleeding before 20 weeks is considered a threatened miscarriage.  FWIW I am 15 weeks and have a bleeding episode (also soaking through panties) about once a week.  The OB said as long as the babies look good and my cervix is still long and closed to try not to worry, because they can't find the source. Just on Tuesday I bled through a pad in an hour and a half, went to the OB still no answers, the bleeding stopped, and started back up this morning.  I stay in constant contact with my OB with each incedent and they always tell me if my anxiety gets bad enough I can come in for an US.  Each time it scares me a little but normally a day or 2 of bed rest gets it to stop.

I had a SCH as well and had some gushing and spotting in the first trimester. Seems like most twin moms that I've talked to have had some sort of bleeding during their pregnancy and I was told by my doctor that bleeding is more common in twins.

I concur with PP, any bleed in pregnancy you go to the ER.... the diagnosis is threatened mc. I had a low lying placenta, they thought might be previa a little bit and causing bleeding. It stopped, but my baby had other issues that they found when trying to determine cause of bleed. Your doctor should see you and will better be able to amswer quedtions. This can resolve and youcan carry to term :-)

((hugs)) bleeding stinks.  I bled from about 11 - 15 weeks and they never found the source.  Or really seemed to look/care for that matter.  I went to the ER when the bleeding first started and they did an ultrasound.  Once they saw both babies on the ultrasound they told me everything was fine.  It's so unnerving.  I hated going to the bathroom during my pregnancy becuase I was so anxious that there would be more bleeding.

I bled bright red and heavily (had to wear multiple pads daily, it was period-like bleeding) for weeks 13-19 of my pregnancy. 

I also had a SCH which was the cause of all of it. A lot of MoMs do seem to have some bleeding but I was so scared that I was going to end up losing them after weeks of heavy bleeding and I'm thrilled to say I have two beautiful healthy babies sitting in front of me.

They did come 10 weeks early, but we'll never know if the two had anything to do with each other!

I had bright red bleeding for several days around week 12.  Found placenta previa and babies were fine, but still so scary to see all that blood.  Toilet would turn dark red.  

When do you go back?

Thank you everyone! I got back tomorrow (Tuesday). They said they say blood on my placenta but that was all the information I was given. They didn't really use any medical terms so I'm not sure if that is actually called something. When I was there they all had heartbeats. I've been taking it very easy and things seem  to have gone away. The only thing that still sometimes shows up is brownish stuff when I wipe. I am hoping for good news and that's about all I can do right now. I really appreciate everyones feedback though.

I know a lot of people have already shared their stories but I feel like it's reassuring to hear more. I bled off and on from 6 to 12 weeks. I'm not 18 weeks with two healthy babies and no other issues. My doctor told me there could be hundreds of reasons for the bleeding but everything was ok. It is still good to get checked out though. Hang in there.
