All I talk about our glucose tests apparently...here I am in hour two of my three hour glucose test. I took the one-hour test at 23 weeks...passed. Found our doctor messed up, so had to take it the following week at 24 weeks, failed...so here I am week 25 doing the three hour.
I'm really nervous about this... I tried to look on the GD side and have been looking up diet plans and recipes so if I am diagnosed, I can be prepared.
I'm thinking though that I may have eaten too many carbs last week before my test. Because it cracks me up (and makes me a little sad) here are all the things I ate between 6:30 and noon (my one hour was at 2:00)
WW English muffin with peanut butter and jelly, smoothie with bananas, spinach and peanut butter, Greek yogurt with honey, blueberries and cereal, almonds, grapes, cherries, and coffee with raw sugar and cream... I was HUNGRY!
I guess time will tell if I sabotaged myself. Regardless, I am having Pizza Hut for lunch and I can't freakin wait!!
Update - I passed!!! Yay!!!! The doctors office called, which scares the crap out of me bc they never call unless something is bad. Turns out my last number was really, really low, so they were worried I wasn't feeling well. No worries, after My test I inhaled two breakfast sandwiches bc I felt like I was going to pass out. Phew! What a relief! However, I still want to eat lower carb, so sharing recipes would be great!!
Re: Three Hour Glucose Test-long- update!
ETA: good luck with your test!
Definitely too many carbs before your last test!
I had GD with my youngest, and I have it again this time. Its not hard to manage, promise! When you eat fruit eat just one serving and add a good protein (PB with out any sugar, cheese, some meat) You'll learn what affects your sugars the most
Good luck! I've never done the 3hr,Β I hate glucola too much. I just test at home if I fail the 1hr
I'm not hungry, I'm HUUUNNNNNGGGRRRRRYYYY! NOW!

With DD1, I had a nice pity party for a few days, then I sucked it up and got on with life. It's not that bad, honestly. The hardest part is getting used to the carb portion control and extra scrutiny by doctors. Yeah, and the blood testing sucks but again, you just take it in stride.
We should start a list of low-carb recipes for us coming up in the GD wheelhouse.
