@womberptyof4 I've heard that about unvaxxed people before and I'm curious how you have a stronger immune system. (We don't vaccinate our kids until they are older and then it's just some of the basic ones like DTaP now, and MMR for one day when my oldest starts school.) so I am curious about immune system being stronger without
@rachel+family I am really not sure but I am rarely sick. My mom has done lots of research and says she will absolutely not vaccinate. I have honestly not researched so I have no scientific proof besides being living proof of someone who doesn't get sick often after not doing vaccinations growing up.

I will get one after baby is born, not while pregnant. I don't get shots while pregnant.
Getting the flu shot while pregnant will actually allow you to pass along some immunity to baby while they are still in utero. While getting it after will still be helpful because you are at least creating a protective bubble around the baby (much like you are doing when encouraging family and friends to get the Tdap and flu shot before visiting) it's not quite as good as passing the antibodies while baby is still inside. That's why ACOG now recommends getting the Tdap in the second or third trimester instead of in the hospital before discharge which was the old practice!
Getting it after delivery is still much better than not at all, though
After this post I decided to do some research and asking around bc I truly want to do the best for me and my baby and toddler. I'm leaning towards the flu mist for DD bc of her egg allergy but some people say I can "catch" the flu through her mucus/etc after?? Also some people are saying that the amount of mercury I think in the vaccine can be really bad for an unborn baby but the other side is high fevers during pregnancy could result in still births or autism?! Idk what to do!
NO. Vaccines DO NOT cause autism. NO.

That's actually not what I said. I said pregnant women who develop high fevers may be linked to autism. I know vaccines don't cause autism :-)
Vaccines do not cause autism. Either your child is born on the autism spectrum or not.
Again, please re-read what I said. Some studies are possibly linking moms who have high fevers for a week or longer to autism. I'm not sure how much truth is in that, but I wasn't saying vaccines cause autism. I definitely don't buy into that crap.
There's a really great book on vaccines by dr. Sears, called, "the vaccine book". At the end he generally recommends vaccines but he goes through each vaccine listing the benefits (protection benefits which aren't always 100%), the chances of catching the disease/virus without vaccination, the risks, the ingredients, the history and how each vaccine is made. I felt very informed after reading it. Like I said he does recommend vaccination but also explains when and why it might be more appropriate to delay vaccine or even forego it altogether (allergic reaction, family history etc).
Im planning on getting the flu shot. With two kids in elementary school and working in a place where i am face to face contact with people, I perfer to use precautions from getting ill.
I'm kind of on the fence about it. I have never had a flu vaccine before, and have always been pretty adamant about not getting it. I'm worried I may have a bad reaction, and would be better off not to. At this point I'm still unsure, and probably won't make a decision until I talk with my doctor about it at my next appointment. I've done a lot of research on vaccines, and especially the flu vaccine has some major issues and normally I would never get it. However, if my doctor thinks baby and I will be better off to get it before flu season hits and I'm all fat and susceptible, I probably will. It's one of those things where sometimes I have to set aside my own opinions about it and make the decision that's better for my baby. Also, since my grandmother has Crohn's disease it's better for little germ carriers to be vaccinated if they're going to be around her.
