Pregnant after 35

Gestational hypertension at 7 weeks????

I haven't been feeling well the last couple of days so I checked my bp and it was 136/87. Before becoming pregnant my bp was always textbook or a bit below. When pregnant with dd (10 years ago) I had high bp which turned into pre eclampsia but it wasn't until the 3rd trimester.
Isn't it really early for it to be elevated? Is anyone else having this?

Mine was  high at my 8 week appointment.  Never had any blood pressure issues in my life!  My doctor said sometimes in early pregnancy it goes up but usually always goes down in second tri so we just watched it.  It has come down but still higher than my normal blood pressure (I am having twins though).    With your history of course you want to be proactive and on top of it.  So call your doctor for sure.  You may need extra monitoring or perhaps start some meds early.

    good luck!

I took it again this morning and it was still high so I called it in. We are just watching for now but if the bottom number gets to 90 I have to go to the ER :-/. Lots of taking it easy for me! I DO NOT want to spend my pregnancy on bed rest!!
