I'm taking the kids on vacation for a week tomorrow by myself. We're staying at a friends house and we have our own kitchen and bath.
any advice? It's a 7 hour car ride which I'm not looking forward to.

What is it you are worried about? Is it a vacation because of the location? Will your friend be home?
The friends are an elderly couple who still work like 16 hour days farming. They won't be of any help to me.
I guess I've just NEVER been with the boys overnight by myself. I'm scared of getting burned out, of driving them the whole way, of unpacking a car and keeping kids safe, getting beds set up, feeding them, and getting DS1 to sleep every night.
Just anxious.

I agree with a lot of what Curling said. Though, with only a 7 hour drive, I don't think you need to overthink it. Lots of snacks & good. Car safe toys, coloring stuff. Kids music or book on cd. Movies if you have the equipment. We just stop wherever it's convenient and they eat & run around. Last year I did a 6 hour drive with a 5 & 2 year old, we planned around naptime & only stopped once.
I would definitely make getting them to bed at a decent hour a priority so that you have time alone.
If you are alone & this friend is working 16 hours - what is the vacation part?
It's where we used to live before moving states away to live with my parents. This couple offered us their grandparent house (grosdawdi house) to stay in so we didn't have to stay in a hotel. We have a few friends we're planning on visiting, some shopping to do, church to attend (our church picnic is sunday which is why we're going out) etc.
My boys are 4 and 2 but developmentally about 12 month and 9 month. DS1 just started walking and DS2 only crawls.

It seems like you are not excited at all. Do you think it will be worth it or are you just going because it was offered to you and you think you should go?
I hope everything goes ok. Usually the anticipation is worse than the actual event.
