TTC after 35

soft cups?

Has anyone used Soft Cups after BD to prevent leakage and thus help with conception?

There are lots of stories online but no medical opinions.

Since evolution is such a competitive process, I'm worried that if it does help, it actually gives the slow swimmers an advantage they wouldn't normally have... Otherwise, I don't see a reason not to try. You are going to laugh at how I'm over thinking this, but I'm OK with that. :D

Re: soft cups?

  • I won't laugh at you, but the idea doesn't work for me, along the lines of propping hips up or not urinating/cleaning up after sex.  I prefer going it the old fashioned way.

Thanks for the very generous offer,
@IFinTN! I'll check back if I decide to go that route and can't get them at my local pharmacy at a decent price!

  • @kelley72‌ Glad I'm not the only one questioning this! Funny because I have nothing against assistive tech otherwise...
  • @marijaa333 I have nothing against ART either, I just cannot afford it or I'd be all over that!
  • The 'good' sperm make their way through the cervix within seconds of ejaculation, likely before he even pulls out. All that's left for the cup to hold in is the seminal fluid (which the sperm is delivered in) and whatever sperm couldn't make the grade anyways. There is absolutely no benefit to holding that useless leftover stuff against your cervix for any amount of time after sex, you're just asking for a UTI or other infection.
