I personally don't ever want only one drink. So I don't drink while pregnant. That, and my heartburn is out of control without alcohol, I know that would just make it worse.

The warnings in Kentucky say that drinking prior to conception will cause birth defects. Hahaha if that were true, I would have FAS for sure since I've been told I was conceived after a lot of Boones Farm wine while listening to the Marshall Tucker Band. Warning labels were created because people make terrible decisions and then sue the pants off of whomever they can find to take the blame
I'm always amused by that. Perhaps instead it should say something like drinking may lead to conception.
I trust my OB on many things. However, when it comes to food and drink, etc. I take more as a suggestion because he rarely speaks in absolutes about these sorts of things and as the other posters brought up, I can look at the research for myself.
I drink a little bit or beer or wine on occasion as I did with my first child who is fine. But then again, I've also survived eating raw salmon (sushi) and oysters and sleeping on my back while pregnant so maybe I'm just living on the edge.
