*Update* XP: How to get BF poop stains out of clothing?

I've read somewhere about laying the items out in the sun. How does that work? Can you do that for items that have already been washed and dried?

I just did a load with oxyclean and it did nothing for the stains. I wash in warm water with Tide powder.

TIA for any tips. All of a sudden the stuff just won't come out.

Update: I re-wet everything and let them sit in the sun all afternoon and the stains are gone! Even on the stuff that's been washed and dried a few times. Woo hoo! Thanks!

  • sunlight usually works pretty well on poop stains. the UV rays act as a bleaching agent.

just wet the clothes, then lay them out flat in direct sunlight for several hours.

have you tried regular-old stain remover that you apply directly to the stains? like shout? that usually worked for me. some people swear by fels-naptha, a laundry soap (you can get it at wal-mart; it comes in a bar). you wet the stain, rub the bar on it, then wash.
