Hello everyone, My current OB is great but she is no longer doing deliveries. I recently had a mc and am hoping to conceive again soon but want to establish a relationship with a great OB/GYN now since I want to have early monitoring of my next pregnancy. I live in Arlington Heights but would be willing to go into the city for someone great. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I absolutely love my doctor and the practice -- Northwestern Specialists for Women. It's on Kingsbury St in the city, basically Chicago & Larrabee. I see Dr. Stephanie Cox there. They have a panel of all-female doctors and affiliated with NW hospital. When it comes to delivery, the doctors take different shifts at the hospital. So while there is a chance that your doc may not actually deliver your baby, throughout your pregnancy appts they schedule you with the other doctors so you can get acquainted with everyone in the practice. I highly recommend!
I use Northwest Women's Consultants and I've been really happy with them. It's a group of male & Female OB/GYNs and while I haven't seen them all yet, the 4 I have seen (Geittmann, Kooperman, Stone-Mulhern and McCool) I've been happy with. Their offices are convenient, basically next to NCH. Now that I think about it, even though I've seen different docs most the of time (my choice, on purpose) I haven't ever had the feeling that the doctors don't know what's going on with me. One doctor will mention my concerns I brought up last time to see if things were better, even though they weren't the one that saw me last time. And they don't have me repeat things over and over for them. The seem to have it together.
The nurses are always friendly and seem to like working there - I haven't overheard any of them complaining about anything. Some other places I've been they talk a little too freely about something in the office that's bugging them without thinking that patients can actually hear what they're saying. My billing has not once been screwed up which is awesome. And they are good about calling back in a timely manner when I have questions. Like most places, if an appointment is later in the morning or afternoon, they can run behind, so I factor in extra time if my appointment time isn't right away in the morning or first thing after lunch.
The other place I've heard good things about is the Woman Care on AH Rd, just south of the downtown. There were several people I've met through classes that go there and they all loved their doctors as well.
Good luck!

I go to WomanCare in Arlington Heights...Dr Goldin is my main dr but they have a staff of 5 OBs that all are on call at Northwest Community. One of the reasons I like WomanCare is how many offices they have so depending on what I needed done, I could go close to home (AH) or close to work (Schaumburg).
My OB/GYN is Dr. Jean Alexandre his office is in Melrose Park but he's on staff at several hospitals. He's been my doctor for about 10 years and he's delivering my baby.
I see Dr. Alice Chen in Skokie and absolutely love her. When I lived on the North Shore, I saw Dr. Gail Goldberg in Evanston and loved her as well - I switched so I could deliver at Advocate Lutheran, much closer to my home than Northwestern. Good luck!
I also go to northwest womens consultants in arl hts. I delivered w them and had a good experience. I've seen Mccool, Geittman, Stone and Kooperman there.
I go to dr. Sibul at the Association for Women's healthcare and absolutely love him! He is in the city most days but has an office in northbrook that he works at on Tuesdays! Good luck!
