I think it depends on what you eat. Just like DS has the mustard seed looking poop until yesterday and then it was slightly green. Must have been something I ate made it different
It shouldn't get stinkier. I know that as their digestive tracts mature, the consistency can change. DD went from runnier BF poops to softer, peanute buttery poops in one day. I called the pedi and he said not to worry unless there was blood or if it was really hard and pebble-like.
I think the smell is definitely stronger. It's kind of that same smell, but I can actually tell with my nose when she has a dirty diaper most of the time and before I couldn't. I also think that when she poops there is a lot more of it, so that could be the reason.
LO has lactose overload because I have a major oversupply issue going on so she has green poops that smell sour like vinegar. Her pedi said they'll return to normal smelling poops soon and it isn't affecting her so not to worry. I think most poop is normal for bf babies. I've noticed sometimes it just smells stronger, idk what that's about
@mamakiss i noticed the past two days my LOs poop smells kind of like vinegar and im pretty positive i have an oversupply issue. Do you know if its something that fixes itself and did your pedi say about how long till her poop will go back to normal?

He said once my supply lowers, she'll begin pulling more hind milk and that should even out everything and it should go back after that. I've noticed that if I pump a bit first, she can empty the breast better and gets some hind milk, so her next poop or two are more normal.
Not that I remember until they start solids. Maybe as others have said the smell got a bit stronger but still the same odor (my babies poo both smell/smelled like sweet popcorn until starting solids).
Re: Does bf baby poop get smellier?
they do esp with solids. My guys get smelly when they eat allergens.
