Tights with open toe shoes?

Tamron Hall (Today) just said that tights with open toe shoes are "so in" right now. I am confused. How do you pull this off? Is this just for super-cool people, or is everyone doing this now? Clearly, we are not going out much.

Not a trend I will ever get on board with.

I think only a 5 year old could pull that off.

I'm just picturing that little seam at your toes showing through your shoes. That doesn't seem appealing to me.

I don't know. They were doing a shoe segment and she just dropped that and then moved on like everyone would know what it meant. I google searched it and didn't get a lot of help - apparently you have to know more about fashion than the latest colors of target yoga pants to understand these fashion blogs.

Yeah like a navy tight with a really cute peep toe heel would be killer. If only I didn't wear sneakers and jeans every day.

@irishcurls AWESOME! way to go girl helping out with actual examples.  What I was envisioning in my mind was a HOT MESS but I really like the hot peep toe heals with tights. super cute. :-)

Hahaha @jmcgra06 this is just MHO! I think the shoes have to be trendy and a bit sexy for it to work. Not some semi comfy flats you wear to your Grandmother's 90th birthday.

More like, the first is 3rd trimester-friendly, the rest will be a thing of the past for all of us come later fall/winter.  Or at least for me.

Are you in my google search history? I was wondering that same thing this spring. I had a killer pair of pastel peeps that I wanted to pair with black tights.

I googled for 30 minutes, and decided to play it safe with my regular heels. If only I'd known it would be so fashion-forward.

For real? JFC I feel so out of the loop! I don't really buy magazines, are there websites I should be checking for this kind of information?? I just buy work clothes at Ann Taylor or Loft and call it a day. What else am I missing out on?

I could definitely see where this would work for someone who is fashionable. However, I wouldn't consider myself fashionable and don't think I could pull it off. I wear flats almost every day, especially now that I'm pregnant.

But I LOVE tights and shoes The examples posted are perfect. You need fall shoes - not spring/summer ones and opaque tights in grays, blacks or jewel tones.

I will say, the ankle boots and booties with the peep toes are something I can't wrap my head around. I guess when you live in the Midwest and you're lucky when it isn't snowing at Halloween you might not be the target market

This New Orleans girl is sweating just thinking of tights, boots, and other winter clothes.  It's 92 degrees today.. I can not even think about them without getting hot.

I would agree with this.....boots are for warm closed toe-ness. I don't get it.

I have no idea. I just think the nude pantyhose are butt ugly. My mom used to make my sister and I wear them when I was like 12 and wore a dress, I hated them. They would bunch up at the ankle and look hideous. I see them and only see old grandmas wearing them now. I do LOVE these as well....the dog in pantyhose is funny!

I totally agree that high heels are scary in the third trimester.

My SIL went to Vancouver in the middle of her third tri and bought a new pair of high heeled tall boots (that were adorable, I'll admit). On her first night wearing them she fell down a flight of stairs at a bar and broke her ankle (luckily the baby was fine). It was terrifying for everyone. And then she was stuck in bed for the rest of her pregnancy.

Public service announcement: Don't try out new heels in the 3rd tri!

I heart Countess LuAnn. She's one of the only ones who doesn't look like a feline from all the plastic surgery.
