@addisonsmom22 I was just thinking of writing your same exact UO last night. But then I thought I'd get trampled on by the many fans on here of the family, so I didn't. Well, I'll just say your UO isn't so unpopular in my head.
I totally agree about gauges & catfish! It looks sooooo gross when people with large gauges take the rings out and have floppy ear holes hanging. Ugh, I might vomit just thinking about that...
I agree with everyone who said they HATE pumpkin spice lattes. They are seriously gross... As are egg nog lattes for Christmas.
I hate pumpkin and egg nog, there, I said it. DH loves them. I don't kiss him in these instances....oh, add peanut butter to that list! Grossssss.
Agree with you on those. I HATE egg nog and cant stand peanut butter !

I agree @mfarmer0811. I really don't agree with him politically but I have really liked him since he left office. He is a very funny guy. I also have always loved Laura Bush. I think she's a cool woman.
I don't like egg nog either, but I LOVE pumpkin pie - I make it every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I also love peanut butter. (Peanut butter and banana sandwiches are awesome )

UO: Speaking of peanut butter. DS1 loves peanut butter on bread, toast, crackers... I think that's great. DD did too. Until she started school. Now, because there are no nut products allowed in schools DD no longer eats it. Because she wasn't allowed to take it to school, and the school requested they not eat it for breakfast because a kid in her class had an allergy. I'm afraid DS1 and LO will end up the same way.
I want them to eat PB because it's so easy to make a snack.
My UO: I think they should be allowed to take it to school. I think that the kids that are allergic AND the kids that aren't should be taught AS A GROUP how to deal with it.

@Surpriseat39, I disagree. Some children have deadly nut allergies, so much so that even having it in the air can cause a reaction. If you want your kids to eat peanut butter then give it to them after school or on weekends.
@SurpriseAt39 you would definitely change your tune if your child could DIE if they come in contact with peanut butter. Why risk the death of a child because you're scared your child may not like peanut butter..??? The way you deal with a deadly allergy is you avoid the allergen.
@SurpriseAt39 I completely disagree. I think it's really selfish to not take another persons life threatening allergy seriously, especially if it's a child. I would be terrified if my child had an allergy and was in your child's class. School is supposed to be a safe place for all children. Nobody chooses to be allergic to nuts.
I get what everyone is saying about peanut allergies. I understand that there are life threatening allergies. But there are life threatening allergies to bees as well...yet we have school during a time when bees are around and the kids go for recess. School boards could opt to hold class when bees are not reasonably expected to be around, or to hold recess inside.
I've never fed my kid PB before school and have been extremely diligent in reading labels when buying any snacks to send to school. BUT, I know there are kids that bring snacks that could cause issues for another, and nothing is ever said. There are teachers too that do this.
My kids's school had one class that had allergies to fish, shellfish, peanuts, pineapple, eggs, oranges. Really, what does that mean you could send for you kid's lunch to school??
I think a lot of parents (at least around here) are taking the lazy way at the moment because their kids are 'protected' at school, they are not teaching their kids what they need to know to keep themselves safe.
Ya, my kid doesn't have a life threatening allergy, neither do I, but I now worry that a kid visiting won't tell me they have an allergy, since its just something they don't have to deal with at school.
I babysat for a family whose son was severely allergic to milk, nuts, and several other things, and 25 years later he still is. He KNEW at 3 years old that he couldn't eat nuts and would tell everyone.
I'm not saying an allergic kid should necessarily sit beside a peanut eater at lunch, but I think everyone needs more education regarding food safety habits.
^^^ I have friends that think kids with severe allergies should be sent to an 'allergies-only' school. That way there wouldn't be anything at the school that would harm anyone, and at the 'regular' school the kids could all eat what they want. (^^that makes no sense at all)
But hey...this is what makes the UO thread so exciting, eh?

When I was in school there were no kids that could die from peanuts in the air... They would have had to be in a bubble. Yah people had normal allergies to stuff so they didn't eat it but wow... Seems like allergies are at a whole new extreme now.
Uo: some of these allergies must be created by the environment, the foods kids eat and things that we do as a society. Not saying child a's parents have him a deadly allergy by being bad parents at all!! I'm saying it must come from somewhere right?!?
One of my former students was allergic to chilled foods.
@fish8412 My brother had a transient allergy (from 18 to about 22) to the cold. He would literally break out in hives on any exposed skin in the cold - it sucked for him living through Canadian winters! It's called cold urticaria.

I had an employee who was allergic to the cold. I don't know how she survived. She was from Newfoundland where they have brutal winters. Now lives in Ontario (not much better). When we would work with frozen foods she would be bundled up as much as possible to keep from getting cold. She would break out in hives from head to toe. And there were days that she just didn't come to work because it was too cold out.
Re: UO
ME TOO @jcoffeebeans I LOVED being pregnant the time of year that I was. I always felt cute. Espicially in my leggings and long shirt.

I detest egg nog and will not let DH kiss me if he drinks any. And for several hours after. That smell/taste lingers. Yuuuuuuuuuckkkkk!!!
I'm okay with a light layer of peanut butter. DH uses so much I would choke if he made me a pb sandwich. Lol.

That's some sound logic there. /sarcasm
