Shortness of breath...

Should I be feeling it this early? I have terrible asthma and using my inhalor does nothing so I am assuming it's baby related. Thinking I might call tomorrow just to check.

Yes! I have extreme shortness of breath at only 11 weeks. I have I do everythig so slowly and nothing strenuous at all or I feel spent and I can feel my heart pumping harder.

Talk to your doctor, but starting in 2nd tri, I couldn't walk across the room without getting winded.  Our hearts and lungs are working triple to sustain mom and 2 babies, plus the babies will start crowding for space sooner than with a singleton.  I imagine that having asthma just makes it even more difficult.

I had terrible asthma flare ups. My allergist saw me at 14 weeks and said I had "silent" reflux and the acid in my esophagus was causing irritation and swelling. I wasnt having any heartburn sensations (though I did later on). He prescribed zantac daily. It helped a ton. Might be worth asking about. Good luck!

Nothing silent about my reflux lol. I took Zantac twice a day until my second trimester started then went back on my Prilosec. Maybe that's part of the problem tho cuz my reflux is bad. I'm going to call in the morning.

I have had trouble breathing since around week 15. My OB suggested that I start doing a few sessions of deep breathing throughout the day and it seems to have helped quite a bit. I normally take 5-10 deep breaths while resting 2-3 times a day.

I have to even speak slowly or I get out of breath. Not only are we pumping that much more blood, I for one am as large as full term and have babies crowding my ribs so much I can't even bend over comfortably, let alone breathe.
