Stretch marks!

Seriously... I'm 14 weeks, have gained about 4lbs, am considerably less bloaty lately and I'm getting stretch marks already? I thought this would be a thing when baby was the size of a watermelon, not so soon, plus I feel cheated as I've been oiling up every morning and evening. Le sigh. Anyone else?

Re: Stretch marks!

  • Nothing new. Just the "mauled by a lion" look that DS left me with. The old marks are becoming more visible though.

  • I had stretch marks already and they are starting to turn red. :(
  • Ugh I'm quite pale so my pinkish ones seem really visible. Knew it'd happen eventually just was not prepared for how soon!!

Same here. And that ^ is exactly how I would describe the looks of it too.

  • I was so proud to tell my BFF that at 7 mo with DS1 I didn't have a single stretch mark. I lifted my shirt up to brag and she just gasped. Apparently, the underside of my stomach looked like a road map but I didn't realize because I couldn't see it.

  • Thanks more fun to look forward to :((
  • mine are back too - you can also try using a loofah to increase circulation to that area...its a shitty war wound for sure
  • yup, same here! I've picked up some tummy butter but have only used it a handful of times. I think there's no preventing it!

  • There's not much you can do to prevent them other than getting new genes. It sucks. My family (mom, sister and myself) don't have/get stretch marks really. I have like 5 barely visible ones way under my belly button from being pregnant with my son. They literally appeared 1 week before I had him. Instead, we have strong genes for cellulite! I dont know what's worse...

Anyway, I did use the belly butter and I did not scratch my belly. They say scratching also causes them, I don't know it it's true or not.

  • Yeah, I had them and I used every oil and butter known to mankind. If the products didn't prevent them, I'm sure it probably helped. My skin was definitely smooth.  My daughter who is turning 13, had a major growth spurt and has them on her thighs and hips. She was quite offended that she would get them already. Genetics suck!
  • Not too excited about getting stretch marks. I'm 13 weeks and already seeing a few signs of them. Might as well begin buttering myself up with heavy moisture lotion, see if it helps a little bit.
  • My tummy is fine so far but my boobs are covered in angry red stretch marks, they are almost all red!
