Baby Names

Have 2 yo twins and am newly pregnant. Twins have names that start with the same initial

I am very early (6 weeks tomorrow) and am definitely jumping ahead....but of course, I am already thinking about naming a 3rd baby!

We have b/g twins that will turn 3 around my due date. We didn't purposely match their first initial ("N"). I had liked the girl name for years and we just ended up liking this boy name the best. They are classic names that are pretty easy to spell. They have family middle names and they do not start with the same initial.

There are really no other N names that I like. I feel a little pressure to have another N name. I don't want baby #3 to feel "left out." But, maybe I am just thinking about it too much.

What do you think?

  • I don't think you need to match the first initial to the initials of your twins. Pick a name you love.

  • I don't think you need to worry about this. I actually find it kind of cheesy when parents match first initials on purpose.
  • Choose a name you love. Don't worry about the initial.

  • You're thinking about it too much. Go with a name you love
  • Your third will be left out of being a twin anyway, so I think it's better to give him/her a non-'N' name to make it special that s/he's not one of the twins. Also, alliterative sibling names on purpose is a bit much for my taste (2 is coincidence, 3 is tradition).

    I think so too.

If there was another N name that you really loved, fine.  To go out of your way to pick another N name is cheesy.
