Experience with pitocin?

I've only posted on here once or twice, but I don't have a lot of second time moms to ask for advice. I'd really appreciate any stories of your experiences with pitocin whether you were induced or just given it as an intervention. MIL and DH's aunt are really getting on me- telling me to avoid induction if at all possible.

I was induced and the pitocin part wasn't a problem.  As a FTM, I don't have other contractions to compare it to, though.  I had a failed epidural so I felt most of my contractions, and I made it through.  Unfortunately, the end of the birth didn't go as planned (ended up with a vacuum assist), but that had nothing to do with the pitocin...baby was stuck, as he would have been due to his size and my pelvis.
