Inaugural OPP Vent Post

I'll start us off with Jill fucking Duggar/Dillard. Oy. Their super fertility hits harder when I don't even have the chance to try this month.

    Childhood friend of mine went BCS after high school. Got all strung out on every drug imaginable, lost her job for theft, and finally arrested for hot checks. She went to prison/rehab where she met a 55 year old grandfather and fellow felon. They got out of the pokey in late June and got married. Not a month later...BAM she's pregnant. Everyday she posts a picture of a food she's eating/craving with the caption "PREGNANT!"

    I deleted her.

    I have one I'm really happy for, but it's still making my life harder. A coworker/friend recently got KU from her first IVF cycle after 6 failed IUIs. She has been my IRL support system through testing and treatments - and I'm thrilled for her! Unfortunately everyone at work knows she is pregnant and it is all anyone can talk about right now. I am barely making it through the day. I work with a ton of women and all I hear all day is pregnancy/baby stories. :(

    Me:35, blocked left tube, RPL, AMA  DH: 34, low morph & borderline count
    TTC since 8/2012
    1st ever BFP 11/4/13 - CP 11/6 @ 4w4d
    12/2013: 50 mg Clomid + trigger + IUI TI + progesterone = BFN (all follies on left side)
    1/2014: 50 mg Clomid + trigger + IUI #1 + progesterone = BFP!
    Beta #1 14 dpIUI = 51 Beta #2 16 dpIUI = 144 Beta #3 19 dpIUI = 354
    U/S @ 6w1d = empty gestational sac. Heartbroken :( D&C 2/22/14

    6/2014: Clomid + ASA 81 mg + trigger + IUI #2 + progesterone = BFN
    7/2014: Clomid + ASA + trigger + IUI #3 + progesterone = CP

    This girl I was friends with in college is pregnant...and her husband (prior to their marriage) threw her cat against the wall and killed it...and then bought her a new one, and she still married him.  So i don't like this guy for many reasons.

    Jan 2014   - OB started some testing 
                         - HSG - Normal
                         - Ultrasound - Normal
                         - SA - Normal, but tested positive for Ureaplasma
                         - Both of us on antibiotics to treat ureaplasma
                         - Blood work - progesterone: 15.9, TSH: 0.89, FT4: 1.2, Prolactin: 33.4 
    Feb 2014   - Endometrial Biopsy - Normal
    Mar 2014   - Prolactin: 22.9, referred to RE
    Apr 2014   - First RE appointment, put on medication for high prolactin levels 
                      - Clomid (50 mg) 1 follicle, Trigger shot - BFN
                      - Second SA - All Normal, borderline morph (5%) 
    May 2014   - Clomid (100mg) 2 follicles, Trigger shot - BFN
                      - blood work: Estradiol: 32.7, FSH: 5.3, Prolactin: 14.1
    June 2014  - IUI #1, Clomid (150 mg), 3 follicles, Trigger shot - BFN 
    July 2014   - IUI #2, Clomid (150 mg), 4 follicles, Trigger shot - BFN
    Aug 2014   - IUI #3, Femara 2.5, 3 follicles, Trigger shot (first time done by DH!!) - BFN
                      - Hysteroscopy - Normal
    Sept 2014 - IUI #4 Femara 2.5, 1 follicle, possibility of another one, Trigger shot - BFN
                       -Progesterone test 4 DPIUI - 7.8...started crinone.
    Oct 2014 - IUI #5 Follistim 150 3 possibly 4 follicles - Trigger Shot - BFN
    Oct/Nov 2014 - Follistim 150 with TI & Trigger shot - ???

    Bleh. That gave me goosebumps. Isn't harming animals one of the first signs of mental illness?

    Yes, and a sign that he has no empathy for a living, defenseless being and will very likely be abusive. I'd be surprised if he has not been abusive to your friend. :(

    July 2006: started TTC
    2008: HSG (normal), couple rounds of clomid through gyno
    2008 - 2010: dragging my feet out of fear and procrastination
    October 2010: first consultation with RE, dx PCOS and fibroids (DH slightly low count/motility)
    Oct. 2010 - Dec. 2012:  In DENIAL! avoided the issue because I was scared of surgery
    January 2013: returned to RE, fibroids grew significantly
    February 2013: second HSG, fibroids pushed on tubes which blocked them somewhat
    March 2013: MRI to determine what type of surgery may be necessary
    July 29, 2013: fibroids (5) removed via robotic laparascopy
    August 2013 - Nov 2013 : benched due to recent surgery

    IUI #1, Dec. 24, 2013, BFN 
    IUI #2, Jan. 25, 2014, BFN
    IUI #3, Feb. 25, 2014  BFN
    IUI #4 canceled due to lack of response to letrozole
    IUI #4.1 April 28, 2014, BFN
    May 16, 2014: wtf consult, start prepping for IVF in June and add injects for one last IUI in the meantime
    IUI #5 started letrozole and bravelle but canceled after HSG led to new diagnosis
    May 21, 2014: third HSG, tubes blocked, one at the beginning, one hydrosalpinx??
    June 11, 2014: consult, approved to move on to IVF because the hydro is not completely blocked therefore allowing fluid to move through slowly rather than backwards
    IVF #1 August 8, 2014 - 3dt of 2 embryos, BFN
    September 17, 2014 - 4th HSG, the right tube is very patent (open!!) dye went straight through this time. Weird!
    October 2, 2014 - started metformin treatment
    November 14, 2014 - blood work, brought A1C down from 5.8 to 5.5
    November 26, 2014 - RE finally back from vaca and reviewed my chart, no more IVFs for rest of calendar year
    December 1, 2014 - Right after Thanksgiving, I called a new clinic and got in right away! Plan for IVF
    December 17, 2014 - ER! 29 retrieved (!!), 16 mature, all 16 fertilized (ICSI)
    IVF #2 December 20, 2014 - 3dt of 3 embryos, BFN

    We are done with treatment unsuccessfully. :(

    Yes, and a sign that he has no empathy for a living, defenseless being and will very likely be abusive. I'd be surprised if he has not been abusive to your friend. :(

    It's also a key sign of a sociopath....that really scares me.

    When the whole thing went down and we actually were semi friends, I was shocked that she would stay with him! I'm hoping he has changed, if that's possible, but I no longer speak to her for other reasons. She really only talks to one girl in my group of friends so luckily I don't have to see her or him that much.

    A girl I went to high school with announced her 3rd pregnancy in 4 years last night. Another classmate is upset that she's having twins and not one or triplets, apparently she doesn't like things in even numbers. Seriously???

    Yes, scary and sad. :( I did want to point out that he has already been abusive - threatening, harming, or killing a beloved pet is a form of domestic violence. I hope she stays safe. :(
