We haven't had DD's 2-year appt. yet, but I believe this is when we're supposed to switch from whole milk to 2% - is that right? What have your pediatricians advised? Thanks.
BFP #1 9/2010 (lost our baby at 21 weeks)
BFP #2 8/2011 (ectopic pregnancy)
BFP #3 10/2011 (chemical pregnancy)
BFP #4 12/2011 (Abigail born 8/15/12)
BFP #5 5/2013 (Griffin born 1/23/14 with heart defects, now repaired!)
we just had our 2-year yesterday. our pedi didn't mention it specifically, but it was on the 2 year appointment info sheet that they gave us.
we're going to leave DS on organic WCM for now. he doesn't drink all that much milk since he is still BFing. i think part of the concern is that they'll fill up on the whole milk and not want to eat other foods, but that's not an issue for us. (we generally eat full-fat dairy anyway, except DH and i use 2% milk).
Our ped said that we could switch if we wanted to, but it wasn't a big deal either way - she was more concerned with how much milk we give DD than the % as a measure of ensuring that DD was getting her calories from a variety of food sources and not just cows milk. We did switch a couple of months ago though since it was annoying to buy two different milks (DH and I drink 2%).
Re: Milk
I'll watch to see what others say.
