Re: *~September Sapphires Check-In~* (Aug 19)

  • MyFirstRaspberry. Hope all is well with you.

I'm getting near the end of my first real TWW since our loss. I disagree with when FF predicts AF, so it's still too soon to make any speculations. We're starting preparations for our move, so I've (luckily) had a lot of other things going on to distract me.

This past weekend MH and I took advantage of some beautiful weather and hiked to the highest point in Paraguay to honor our LO, Daisy. (I should mention that Paraguay is flat and low so the highest point is only 842 meters. ;) Nonetheless, the trail was built without any switchbacks so it was pretty challenging.) When we finally reached the top, we couldn't believe that the clearing was surrounded by patches of--you guessed it--daisies!

QOTW: I think I'm probably more of a Chandler than anyone.

Surrounded by daisies!!! That is so amazing and such a beautiful way to remember your LO! I am so glad that you and YH were able to enjoy that experience together and I hope it brought you some comfort.

When is your move date? You are headed to the US, correct?

Chandler, huh?  How so? Is it the awkward humor?

  • Thanks for the check in @MyFirstRaspberry‌ . Since last week I started drinking red raspberry leaf tea, and within a couple of days I started spotting, to full flow- finally back to spotting now. Praying it means that the lining has come out naturally, and my body can begin to heal. I've got bloodwork next week to monitor my levels- excited for the OB appt on Friday to get an idea of a plan. In bad news, DH just found out he is away all September for work, so I'm going to need to get through our loss date with very little support :(

  • I have some updates to share this week!

Last Friday I had an HSG and I want to thank all of you for the painless HSG vibes because they worked!  The HSG was not painful at all for me. The good news is my tubes are open and clear. The bad news is the HSG showed a minor amount of scar tissue from my previous 3 D&C's.

On Monday, I had my long awaiting RE follow up visit, where I met with HoldingOutHope in the office. We share the same RE office and accidentally made our follow up appts on the same day at the same time. It was wonderful to see her and meet her husband. After meeting with the RE, I learned the scar tissue is minor but to be 100% sure, he wants to do a Hysteroscopy on Thursday to evaluate and remove any tissue.

The positive side of this is that the RE believes the scar tissue is so minor that we can move forward with a medicated cycle immediately after the Hysteroscopy.  So assuming the
Hysteroscopy shows nothing more than expected, I will soon start a medicated Femara + IUI cycle! I am so excited! I am also scared to get bad news after my procedure on Thursday... so keep your fingers crossed for me please.

@beckynsean11 - Do you use Femara?  I may reach out to you about your experience with Femara.

  • @MyFirstRaspberry I'm so glad to hear that your HSG was smooth sailing. Hopefully the doc is able to address the scarring easily enough. Yes, this was my second cycle on Femara, please feel free to ask questions. GL on Thursday!

@eliida I LOVE LOVE LOVE that there were daisies all around you. That must have been amazing.

@LauraO11 I'm so sorry that YH is going to be gone for your DD. It's so hard when they travel. Please lean on us <3 Good luck with your appointment on Friday.

The 2WW is starting to drag on & I'm losing my resolve to not test early. I saw another double rainbow this past weekend, which I would have totally missed had I not made a wrong turn. It's getting hard for me to not be overly hopeful. Plus the progesterone is starting to give me some symptoms. Head games...

Therapy is going pretty well. While my therapist doesn't have a ton of experience with pregnancy loss, she is good with grief. She is really encouraging me to try to find something MH & I can do on Rowan's DD. I don't know what we'll do, but I'll think of something. She also got another client the same week as me that had a still birth. This other woman was interested in connecting with me, which I ok'd; I'm guessing I'll hear from her soon.

QOTW: I think I'm a mix of Chandler (awkward humor 4 lyfe!) & Monica with her anal retentive ways.

Big hugs to everyone this week!

Me: IR-PCOS, elevated DHEAs, low progesterone, weak ovulation  DH: low volume, low T
SHG 5/10/13: both tubes blocked; HSG 6/28 = Left tube cleared! Right blocked.
    BFP#1 7/20/13 EDD 3/30/14, m/c 8/19/13, D&E 8/21/13, Chromosomal results = normal, female
Lap & hysteroscopy scheduled for 10/31, right tube cleared, no endo found! ...Happy Halloween!
Cycle 14: Clomid (50)+ IUI = BFP! EDD 9/16/14~ Rowan Elizabeth born sleeping at 17w4d on 4/12/14 due to IC.
~There is no foot too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world~
    New RE June 2014. RPL b/w - negative. SIS looking for uterine/cervical abnormalities & Asherman's 6/10/14 - ALL CLEAR!
    Cycle 16: Natural IUI = CP, Cycle 17: Femara (2.5) + IUI = BFN, Cycle 18 Femara (5) + IUI = BFFN, Cycle 19: Break
Cycle 20: Clomid (50)+ IUI = BFP EDD 6/20, transvaginal cerclage 12/19, Carson Quinn born sleeping at 16w3d on 1/6/15 due to IC
Phone consult with Dr. Haney (Univ of Chicago) for transabdominal cercalge scheduled for 2/9/15.

  • MyFirstRaspberry So exciting! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.

beckynsean11 I'm so glad that therapy is going well. It's so hard not to read into everything during the TWW. That said, I'm like a 12 year old girl at a Lisa Frank convention when it comes to rainbows. I don't believe in "signs", but seeing a rainbow always makes me feel really good. FX.
  • @eliida -  Your hike sounds amazing, especially with the added significance at the top!  Best of luck with your move!

@LauraO11 - Best of luck at your OB appt.  I'm sorry your DH will be away all of September but you know you can always lean on your fellow Sapphires for support.

@MyFirstRaspberry - Good luck with the Hysteroscopy!  I'll definitely be thinking of you and praying for good news so you can move forward with an IUI cycle.  I'm so excited for you!

@beckynsean11- I'm glad therapy is working for you.  I always have a hard time holding out from testing even though  I swear I won't test early when the 2ww starts!

UPDATE:  My beta check isn't until Friday but I'm really, really hoping it's negative.  It was 5.5 last week so it MUST be negative now, right?  I hope so!  I've said that it must be negative for the last three weeks though so who knows.  I think I o'd last Friday but I didn't temp early in the cycle (since I thought I would have a negative beta and go on BC) so FF won't give me crosshairs.  Anyways, I'm expecting AF late next week and with a negative beta, I can finally go on BC and prep for IVF #3 when we return from our trip!

By the way, I'm getting super excited for my trip.  We leave for St. Lucia in 3.5 weeks!

QOTW:  I think I'm most like Monica.  I'm a planner and a control freak!

  • Hey ladies!

My beta is tomorrow, so I'm hoping for good news, but since I've been spotting all week, I'm not too sure what's going to happen.

@myfirstraspberry: GL with everything--I'll be thinking of you!

I am sending you calming vibes for the 2ww. I hope it doesn't drive you crazy.

That is really interesting the other patient wants to reach out to you. I hope the therapy sessions help you heal and find comfort. I am proud of you for attending the sessions.

I have anal retentive ways too :)

    @CallaLily30
Yay for St. Lucia!!  Do you have a bathing suit ready? Cute outfits on hand?  I'm so excited for you to get in some vaca time. Enjoy every second of it!

  • I think it's negative, ladies....thanks for all the good wishes. I thought I had full flow this morning and cancelled my beta and scheduled a CD 3 ultrasound for tomorrow. However, the flow has disappeared, which is weird for me. I wish that my body would get it together.

  • Hey ladies, hope you are all doing well. Hope you don't mind me coming back!

I've been MIA for a bit, we took a cycle off after our last failed attempt.

We did IUI #3 today, super low sperm count so not a great chance. I've had my hopes up really high for this one....thinking that somehow next month would be easier if we were able to conceive. Let the two weeks of waiting begin.

Hugs to all who need them today.

Negative beta last Friday... FINALLY!  9 weeks post D&C and almost two full cycles later, my beta was finally below 5 (2.9 to be exact).  Based on my temp drop this morning, AF may be on her way today and then I can get on BC to prep for IVF #3 starting at the end of Sept.  I'm so happy to be moving forward finally that I treated myself to a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte this morning on the way to work!
