I'm curious about this too. I've been having some sharp pains on my left side off and on today. Not quite cramps but sharp pains that make me wince a little... and my back has been seriously hurting since yesterday. Possible bh?

I didn't notice Braxton hicks with my first, but with baby 2 and this one I notice(d) them a lot!

As far as position, in the office they use Leopolds maneuver. You can google it. It takes some practice though. And of course, ultrasounds can tell you the position!

My baby is head down but he is WAY down. I feel movement on my cervix and then his butt is even with my belly button and he kicks my right side just above my hip bone

I have BH and contractions. BH can be uncomfortable and painful but probably not with your first. If you have ice pick type pains "shooting" it is probably RLP. Contractions hurt everywhere and BH are more uncomfortable.

If you feel period type pain or tightening after orgasm, that is what BH feels like

I had a growth ultrasound yesterday and they confirmed what I had thought...she is head down.

Today though. My belly is flat on the top and I'm wondering if she is somehow transverse right now.

I've been getting these pains that feel like if I had a horrible stomach flu, they pass after about 5 min. So no clue wtf those are.

My boy finally flipped and is now in head down position where I'm hoping he will stay.  I have been having BH for a while now, but they aren't painful at all.  Its like a tight feeling and it is uncomfortable sometimes but there is really no pain involved so far.

Our babies are in the same position, except mine kicks my left side.  He is SO freaking low, it's crazy.

I knew mine was low but I had a sonogram last thurs and the MFM was all concerned but not too concerned. When my OB read his report I thought he was going to fall out :) (haha the OB) they sheduled me another ultrasound for Thurs. They said they are worried the pressure will break my water :/image

Right! He really is. They have me on modified right now. I can go to work because it is a desk job but past that... No walking long periods or anything like that. He said I don't think your body is ready for labor per se but the pressure alone could cause your water to break or contractions that start labor from stress.... Well alright, noted!

Wait, a low baby carries a risk of breaking your water? I'm carrying really low too, and I've been trying to persuade myself it doesn't mean anything. My midwife this week commented that baby's head was "WAY down there" and I pressed her about the significance of that. She said it didn't mean anything. I carried my son low, too, but this one seems even lower. I wanted to attribute it to my crappy abs and leave it at that! :/

Mine was determined by ultrasound and I already have some other issues.
I think normally they are just low and don't cause any water issues. Something about stations and pressure vs tension and his actual position.

My baby has her head deep down low and I usually feel kicks up higher. But I can tell for sure that she's low when I feel hiccups down in my vagina almost haha. I had an ultrasound last week and we weren't able to see her face again because her head is buried down too deep. :-q

I have been having the whole belly tightening for a while but I never connected them to bh or anything I just thought it was normal. I get side pain alot now too but nothing that says labor.
