Newbie intro - carlsonbaby2014

Hey everyone - I hope you don't mind me lurking and commenting sporadically as I begin to delve into the world of CD.  I am in full research mode right now as I'm expecting my first in December.  He'll be our rainbow baby .  I am most active on the Pregnant After a Loss board (PgAL) and recognize quite a few names from there!  I am looking forward to getting to know everyone.

My H and I are hoping to do a mix of prefolds with covers and all in two's after much discussion of what would best meet our budget and convenience wants.  Our primary goals that led us to CD were to save money and reduce our environmental impact.  The thing that really tipped the scale in favor of CDing was, of course, Patrick Swayze's PSA:

Hi lady!  I lurk over on Dec '14 from time-to-time as well but not as often.  You must be looking at CD too, that's awesome!

We are planning to CD for sure! I have a NB stash already (just finished it!) and are excited. My sister CD'd her son and daughter and we have a local natural parenting store so I luckily have some real life input as well!

Welcome! Definitely read the FAQ thread and if you want more info the cloth 101 series on YouTube is supposed to be very good. And don't be afraid to ask questions, even if they seem silly - the ladies here are so helpful!

I'm also mostly a lurker here since I'm still only planning to CD and haven't gotten to dive in yet, but fun to see you and some other pgal ladies here!

So far I've got most of our NB stash ready, and some for the jump to OS, and now I'm just trying to resist buying all the diapers til we actually have baby to put all this fluff on!

@starmile - hey girl!! I'm so excited you are meeting your rainbow next week!!!! I'll be checking PgAL for the updates . I have a minky giraffe that doesn't have a tag but I've always assumed was an Alva.
