Which fabric(s) for handmade inserts?

I am going to try making my own inserts for my BG's, and maybe even try sewing a couple of diapers.

I have bamboo fleece, hemp fleece, and organic cotton. What combinations would you use, and how many layers? I want something relatively trim.

I did three layer bamboo fleese. 13x14 inches. I trifold that and stuff my pockets. Super trim and absorbant.
