DS (5yo), who was dx'd this July with ADHD (combined) - moderate, and an articulation disorder attends our district public charter school for kindergarten.
I have yet to discuss DS and his circstances, because while there has been meet & greets, the teacher is still trying to settle in it seems. We've been trying to talk to her, but her mind is all over the place meeting all parents, etc.
Keep in mind this is the SECOND day of school, and on the first day, at afternoon pickup...the teacher asked about his previous school experience, etc. Which I suggested to have a meeting instead because his history needs a one on one meeting. That afternoon she sent me an.email to set up a meeting for this Thursday, and the Dean of Students may be there.
I don't know if he will be in this class will be long term, or he may need an aid. What do the schools do in these matters? Is he moved to a temporary classroom which has more support until an IEP/504 is in place?
Also I am prepping his accommodation request letter this week. I would have done it sooner, but I have been to the ERs and doctors offices all this month for DS and high fevers - 104.7, then I got what he had, then DD got it. Plus...getting supplies, uniforms...August has been a PITA.
