Please share your baby's nursery

Earlier this summer we moved to a new house, and every time I walk by the empty spare room, it just breaks my heart because it should be all set up as Colton's nursery, and that got me thinking about his room full of carefully selected, lovingly set up furniture and artwork and toys and how sad it was to pack it all up.  And so I thought maybe we could share some of our baby's nurseries on here - either photos you have, or photos you might take if you are brave enough to open that door.  Or if the nursery was still in process, an item you had for your angel - a blankie, a special toy, a sweet little outfit.  We would love to see all of these items that were so carefully selected, made, stored for your little one(s).

Colton's nursery was all done in blue, gray, and yellow.  I love to decorate and started working on his nursery almost as soon as I found out I was pregnant.  In fact, after Colton was born still, I had this need to finish his nursery.  It was practically there already, but in those weeks following his death, I hung the last few pieces of artwork, put sheets on the bed, hung curtains, and took lots of photos.  We had put so much love into this room for him, I couldn't just take it all down and pack it all away without seeing it done.  I know many moms close the door and can't stand even looking in their angel's nursery, and I was the opposite.  It was sad, but it was also his space.  I would sit in there and hold his bear and cry.  

Along with the colors blue, yellow, and gray, we used elephants in his nursery, which was a totally random thing that was started by a crib sheet from Target.  I have no former love of elephants, and now believe it was a God thing, because any elephant I see reminds me of Colton and they are so easy to find and make such sweet little mementos and gifts.

It is so sad to think all of this has been packed up and stored in the garage.  It's not the same.  While I know I had no choice to pack it all up since we moved, I still wish it was all set up like this.  That I could sit in there and talk to him and feel him.  And, as I type this, I'm realizing that I'm pretty sure that the changing table is sitting in the garage right now still full of all of his cloth diapers - so maybe it isn't all packed away just yet.  How weird would I be if I went and sat in the garage, hugging cloth diapers?

stefuge this is a great idea for a thread.  I love Colton's nursery.  So many hugs to you.  I know it must have been hard when you had to pack up to move. And I say, hug whatever you need to hug

Conner and Ben's room isn't quite all set up yet -all it is missing is the furniture, which I sadly went to order the same day that I went into labor and was admitted to the hospital.  Their theme was puppies and sports. They also have a closet full of clothes and other things like their double stroller and the twin nursing pillow.  I can't bring myself to open that closet.

I never even started my son's nursery. His room was, and still is, being used for storage. But I know the ideas I had for it. I know whose room that was meant to be. It is very hard walking through it, and in order to go to the laundry room I have to walk through it. All of his things, while never set up, are in that room. His stroller, car seat, clothes...all in that room :-(

We never set up a nursery because we were in the middle of house searching at the time of our loss. I remember looking at every house and deciding which room would be the nursery. We were planning on re-using my 3 year old's crib so right now it is in pieces in the back of the garage. I just walk by it and try not look at it.

We never actually got Fiona's nursery set up; it's still our guest room. But, as we were planning on re-using our 3 year olds crib, that is now in there as well. I had bought bedding already; Skip Hop Tree Top Friends. It's all still in the original packaging. After Fiona passed away, I attempted to return it, however Skip Hop wouldn't take it back as I had passed the return timeframe. So, for now it sits in that room until I decide if I can use it again when we have another. Thankfully, I really never need to go in that room. I probably should to clean, but can't bring myself to do it.

We had planned for Ben to share a room with dd. She moved from the toddler bed (converted from a crib) to a twin in January. We hadn't converted it back to a crib yet but had started to buy sheets. I had my sister return those after his death and buy picture frames. We had also purchased another base for our car seat, some clothes, new decor for their room (from butterflies to Mickey Mouse and friends). I wond up using the Disney wall stickers in the playroom. Dh had just installed a closet organizer to divide the space. It still has a side for Ben with his ergo that his godmother bought me as a hostess gift for her shower. The crib/ toddler bed is still up and dd calls it Ben's crib.

I took this picture on the 15th, which marked five long months that we have had to live without him. When we were buying his crib sheets dd grabbed the football and asked if she could give it to him. The monkey rattle was hers that she saved when we went through her baby things as we prepared their closet. She wanted him to have it.

@stefuge, I LOVE Colton's nursery! 

I didn't get started on Layla's nursery beyond just pinning things on Pinterest and brainstorming what I wanted to do.  I'm a bit of a procrastinator, so I hadn't really bought anything for her.  Once she passed though, I decided to make her a hat and blanket to be buried in since I didn't want to part with what she she had on in the hospital.  I had all of these dreams of the things I would make for her, so I knew if I didn't get my butt to the fabric store and make her a couple of things for her burial, I would never have the chance.  Here is a pic:

We moved last winter, and it pains my heart that we don't have a room for Elsie. We do have a space that is hers, but its not the same as the nursery that I created for her. It wasn't much, but I poured all my love into it. Like you @stefuge I would sit in there with some of her things and just cry after we lost her. The day we got home from the hospital, it was the first room we purposefully went in. We sat in there and just cried and cried. 

I framed vintage patterns as her artwork. And I created a sign of sorts that said "Though she be but little, she is fierce." Its from a Shakespeare play. I still think of that saying often.

stefuge : Colton's nursery was amazing!  You must really have a talent for decorating.  And I say not weird at all to sit in the garage hugging diapers.  At least not weird in this group

aragosta : You did a great job, I love it too!  I totally get the nursery being a trigger, I mostly just leave the door shut to Q's nursery, and only go in there very rarely.

Noethola : It's hard for me to see your pics, but I love the yellow color.  I also love that quote, it makes me smile.

We had an airplane theme for Q's nursery.  If we have another boy, we want to do something a little different, but will probably keep a lot of the same things.  Maybe make it a planes, trains, and automobiles theme. These pics are from before it was completed, but you get the idea.
