My guys are almost 19mo. Since they hit about a year old, they go down for an "evening nap" around 6P, then wake up around 8P or so to have a snack and hang out, then back down for the night at 10P. They are up at 6A, and they have their day naps at 10A and 2P (total daily average around 14hrs between night and all three naps). We will probably drop the evening nap sometime around 3yrs old, and the morning nap at 4yrs old. We will keep the afternoon nap until they are in elementary school.

  • The twins are just over a year and go to bed around 8pm. It's gotten a bit pushed back over the past 6mo or so, from 730ish. We both work and don't get home until 6ish, so I don't really want them asleep before 8.

My oldest is just over 4. He's an awful sleeper. We pushed his bedtime back to 915-930 and it helped a lot. He sleeps 930-630 and doesn't nap. He's always been on the low end of sleep. Ugh.

  • @Rynleigh‌ what!?!? OP: ours go to bed at 730 0-1 yr awake at 8, 2 naps totaling 3 hours, bedtime at 730 1-2 years awake at 730, 1 nap for 2 hours, bed at 730 2-3 years awake at 7, 1 nap for 1 hr, bed at 730 Now it's bed 730, up at 7 (sometimes a little nap, usually just turns into quiet time)
Sounds like you're doing approximately the same amount of sleep, you're just condensing it into longer stretches. Our nights are only 8hrs long instead of 12, and we do three 2hr naps.

We had done just two daily naps with our singleton girls (who are now 12yrs and 7yrs old) when they were this age, but Simon has night terrors - ensuring that he gets at least 5 to 6 hours of his sleep during the "day" prevents him from being over-tired when he goes to bed at night, and helps reduce the occurrence of terrors. Since our boys are twins and we do our best to keep them on similar schedules for the sake of everyone's sanity, Jamie is on the same nap schedule.
