5225 schedule??

Does anyone have any experience with a 5225 schedule? I know I said I wasn't about a 50/50 schedule, but I was looking to get input about this type of schedule. So it would be where I would have the kids Monday and Tuesday, he would have them Wednesday and Thursday and then alternate weekends.  I will also work it in where if he has to go to work at night or on weekends, then I would have priority before his parents. We would also work in exceptions for special events, possibly even adding in a few hours for the opposite parent during the long weekend stay. My thoughts are that they kids would know where they are going each day, and don't have to spend too much time away from the other parent.  Any thoughts are appreciated!

Re: 5225 schedule??

  • I think this sounds like a good arrangement if you and your ex live close enought to each other where the kids don't have to travel far for school.  I am assuming this is the case for you guys?

If so, it actually sounds like a great compromise.

  • I agree with Helenah.  If he lives kind of far, it might not work out as well.

  • I don't have personal experience with this but that's more than reasonable and fair as far as the children seeing both their parents with a set schedule as long as like PP said the travel issue is resolved. Good luck!
  • You could do dinners on the 5 somewhere in the middle.

For me though this wouldn't work. 5 days away from me, their primary care giver, is just way too long.

Also, you can ask on blended families. They have a lot of experience with different visitation scenarios.
