Constipation in third tri

......but what if someone has just the opposite? Sorry if this is TMI..... I have been feeling that feeling like I have to have a BM and going quite frequently....... It's not diarrhea, but it isn't formed either....... Looking it up, there are people who say it is your body cleaning out getting ready for labor..... For reals? I hope not! Anyone know anything about this?

Re: Constipation in third tri

  • When I went to my birthing class last pregnancy the nurse said your bm should be the consistency of mashed potatoes. I think it means you are getting enough fiber and fluid more than cleaning out for delivery, but I could be wrong.

  • In my pregnancy info book from the doctor they said that can happen days or weeks before labor begins. Its from the hormone that causes your uterus to contract, it also works on your bowels.

  • It's also when you eat a lot in a day. I find that when lo is going through a growth spurt I eat like a fiend and the next day I go to the bathroom a lot. Same thing. Not scary poops. Just a lot. As long as you're eating and going, I wouldn't worry. Bodies do what they do.

  • I'm with famous ea it's Rilly sucky those none days so enjoy the loose ones now, time to pop prune pills :/ and eat a bowl of cerial
  • It probably has to do with your uterus pushing on all your organs. I remember being able to poop a lot easier toward the end of pregnancy with DS. So far I haven't been as lucky.
