Stroller for 3yr old and newborn?

Ok so it never occurred to me until DD and I were headed to the zoo that she may still need a stroller. We hadn't used a stroller in months and sold her bugaboo earlier this year. (Yeah didn't think I'd get pg again). So I rented one and we were both so grateful!

Anywho, I don't plan to get a double but maybe something with an attachment? I plan to wear baby most of the time but I think I may need to have a backup plan incase they both need to be strolled.

Anyone else having this issue? I really want a lightweight stroller that's sleek and stylish too. I just don't think the hubby would be happy with me spending over 1k on a stroller. The bugaboo donkey is calling me! Ugh the agony of choosing! I just know I can't deal with a big bulky system like a graco.

The bugaboo bee was a huge splurge for us at $900 but at the time it was exactly what we needed. I traveled with DD for work and it was such a nice option to be able to carry it in one hand etc... Plus it was really pretty!

Any ideas ladies?

Thanks!!!

  • Try the Phil and Teds Dot. You can attach a second seat or a scooter to the back. They have a few others that also convert to doubles. The Dot was my compromise with the world of double strollers. It is lighter than most and fits through regular doors.
I found some helpful reviews on YouTube before I bought it.

  • Uppababy Vista also has an option to add a rumbler seat or a standing block.

  • I was also going to recommend a sit and stand.

  • Totally not answering your question, but I had to throw this out there...

I was sold on the UPPAbaby Vista until I read this. I hadn't ever seen or heard of the Bugaboo Bee before, and I just looked it up.  In September, they will be releasing the Bee3 that has been significantly upgraded, and holy cow is it nice!

    Damn!
I loved it! It was easy to get in and out if the airport with it too!

  • Friends of mine have a Phil & Ted's inline jogger that has worked very well for them, but their kids are only 2 years apart. Mine will be 3.5 years apart and I'm not bothering. I have the Uppa Baby Vista and maybe I will get the buggy-board attachment if it seems necessary. My son uses the stroller once every few months now- at the airport mostly. We have a Radio Flyer wagon that we use at the farmer's market- we could put two kids in it and still have room for groceries. I just got my son a Razor scooter to use when we go on vacation this fall.

Um, I got a used sit and stand tandem (has a removable seat on the back that converts to the bench) for $40. I think your stroller taste may be a tad richer than mine though.

I'm actually looking into the sit and stand. The higher end strollers tend to be lighter and easier to maneuver. I don't travel much these days but will once baby is born. So it's more about convenience then price. Trust me DH thinks I'm cray cray, but second hand for the rest of our stuff is fine by me! :)

  • What about a Valco Snap with Hitch Hiker?  The Snap and Snap4 are light-weight and you can attach a ride on board for your  DD.
