Kind of New - Introed before - Overnight Question

Hi,

I mostly lurk, although I've introed before and sometimes answer questions ... have a 13 month old girl that we CD. She just became a super heavy wetter overnight, and thanks to your posts, I knew to try the SBish OBF with Blueberry Coverall. It worked great for us, but while I wait for more of these diapers to arrive, I'm hoping you can help me with a temporary fix for the nights that my OBF is dirty before the extras come. I have prefolds (L and M), flats, hemp inserts, flip overnight inserts, and microfiber. What would be something that I can rig up for temporary use that would be similar in absorbency? Just to give you an idea, on nights that we don't use the OBF, there will be a puddle of pee on the floor on the side of her mattress. I hope you can help so we can keep her dry! Thanks for any input you can provide.

Are you able to Snappi a prefold or flat around her? Then you can add another insert between the Snappi'd diaper and the cover. Or a padfolded flat. Or you can double up the flats. Or put a padfolded flat inside a Snappi'd flat .... So many combinations, it all depends on how much folding/fastening you are comfortable doing.

What are you currently doing that DOESN'T work?

I would start with a large prefold and a hemp insert or two.

We have tried the Grovia overnight diaper insert (it was a test run) - and we have done disposables (Pampers Extra Protection). I was always afraid to try cloth at night since we were having success with the PEP. During the day, she does a BG 4.0 with a pad folded flat. For naps, she does a pocket with a prefold. The prefold for the nap doesn't always work if she's had a lot to drink.

When our OBFs aren't clean, I'll use a pad folded flat wrapped around a MF insert & hemp doubler. Or prefold & hemp. It's bulky but will fit under a coverall.

I would do a snappied prefold with an extra insert or pad folded flat between the prefold and cover. You need the protection on the sides from snapping it. That's what the grovia is missing.
