Baby Names

hi new to the baby names group

Hi I don't plan on just driving by here and I know it might come out as rude to ask a question before giving back to the board but I promise I will. I'm in the February 15 mom month board and Im fairly active but I decided to post it here so I won't clutter the board with another average question lol
Ok so to the point do you like the name Bianca for a girl? Its a little early but I'm a planner and would like honest opinions you won't hurt my feelings. Oh and thank you! Lol

Re: hi new to the baby names group

  • I love the name Bianca. One of my best friends is named Bianca and it sounds classy and elegant to me.

  • Well I like it too the only thing is thats my name lol and both my So and sister don't think I should name the baby after me but its not really after me I just really like my name? ( did that sound a bit conceded?lol )
  • I wouldn't be able to name my daughter the same name as myself, but if you like the name there is no reason not to, especially Considering how many jrs (and thirds and fourths) there are.

  • I'm not sure if I could either and she might dislike having the same name as her mom at least in her teen years lol but I'm clueless when it comes to girl names and when I wear my name badge to work our customers always compliment on what pretty name I have. Plus I don't see too many new babies with that name but it might be confusing in our own house when people call for Bianca.

  • I'm not a fan of juniors that much either but I don't see anything too bad with them . I get were your coming from I haven't ever met someone named after their moms and I t might come out as weird/odd.
  • It's very much NMS, but a fine name. Welcome to the board!

  • I like the name Bianca, but I wouldn't name my DD after myself.
  • Just wanted to say, I love Blair off of PP's list and think it could be a very nice ode to you as mom with the B's! :)

  • I like the name Bianca, but I'm not a fan of naming children after yourself (sons or daughters).  I think much of our identity is connected to our name, and each child should have a chance to create their own identity.

  • Yea ill most likely skip bianca and blair is cute but not my style but I might go for another b name ;)
  • This might end up in a nickname to avoid confusion, like Bea. I wouldn't do it personally. Bianca is unique, beautiful, and elegant and somehow exotic to my ear. Some suggestions: Celeste Colette Petra Giana Ingrid

  • Ugh i know that's why I would love it for my daughter if I could change my name and giver her mine I would. I'm just really not feeling many girl names and my soon to be step daughter took the good ones lol (Natalie, Natasha) I love her name. I'm really looking into exotic names since I have cuban and mexican heritage. Just something that would go well with a Hispanic last name. I really dont know what I was thinking trying to name her after me but I'm really desperate lol
  • I love Bianca. Having it as your name doesn't bother me that much. But my family recycles a lot of names, LOL. I share a name with my grandmother and aunt, just because my mom loved it.
  • Bianca is lovely. I just remembered that book/movie, House of Spirits, where women of the family were Clara, Blanca, and Alba - all with a similar, "white" meaning, and all definitely go with a Hispanic last name (the author is Chilean) :) - maybe you like the sound of those?

  • @yvonnesophie‌ I could do that. Thanks!!!
  • @didobas I've never heard of that book I might have to take a look at it I've been trying to find names on books I've read but no luck.
And thanks ladies I've decided to find a unique and beautiful name of her own for my future daughter (if she is a he I already have a name lol) ill find out sept 11 :)
  • Good luck! I do like Bianca but yea, I'd middle name it since it is your name. Some of my favorites that might match your criteria:

    Valeria
    Marina
    Ana
    Teresa
    Amalia
    Alessandra

  • Bianca is lovely, but I wouldn't reuse a name in the same household. WAY too confusing IMO.

Suggestion: Paloma. It means 'dove', and doves are often white, and Bianca means 'white.'

  • I love Bianca, but I wouldn't want to name my kid after myself. It's the reason why Alice isn't on our list, even though it's one of my top two favorite girl names (my name is Alyssa).

Same here! After watching the movie Silent Hill it made me really like the name Alessa. Bbuuutttt Alyssa/ Alessa. So, no go.

To OP : I would choose another name, to me that would be like talking to myself all the time.

  • I already talk to myself lol ;) and yea I like valeria but my So's cousin is named that ( ironic?) Lol and hmm paloma is not too bad I could grow on that name. I like it thanks ladies♡
