***babies/pregnancies/children mentioned*** I've had nightmares like that before, too. Where I have kids and it's so real and the nightmare is waking up to realize it's not. As far as nightmares, like you describe, I've always had recurrent nightmares. Since I was very young. Not IF related, but yes I get them. A lot. It's important to quiet your mind before bed and make yourself think of something nice. Thinking about or having sex before bed seems to work for me. Haha TMI, I know. :P
Love 2010 | Marriage 2011 | TTC #1 since 2012 PCOS | Anovulatory | Metformin + Letrozole
I've had a few, and I don't normally remember my dreams. Mine usually centre around a friend who has a few kids and made some well-intended but insensitive comments to me.
Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF.
I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).
We are using open ID donor sperm.
IUIs #1-7=BFN.
IVF September 2014 antagonist protocol, 8R,5M,3F, 5 day transfer of 1 morula = BFN. IVF#2 planned for January 2015 (antagonist protocol + HGH).
@DaydreamSam - that is absolutely horrible! I'm sorry you've had that nightmare!
I don't usually remember my dreams more often than once every 3 months. Lucky me, they are always nightmares. The past three that I remember were not outwardly about infertility (as in there were no babies or pregnancies), but obviously about how lost I feel on this horrific journey.
Nightmare 1: I am running a marathon, and the race director keeps changing the course while I am running. Several times, I will go down a road just to find out that it was the wrong direction. So I need to turn around and run back to get back on course. There is an announcement made when I believe that I am on Mile 25 (1.2 miles to go) which tells me that the finish line has been moved. Now all of a sudden, I am on Mile 20. I am exasperated and realize that I'm never going to cross the finish line. End nightmare.
Nightmare 2 and 3: My dogs are in peril and I spend the whole nightmare trying to save them. My efforts are in vein, and I wake up just as they are about to slip beyond my grasp.
I keep having weird dreams, I always dream about water, don't know if that means anything. @AlaskaDee23 some co workers and I were talking about dreams not too long ago and we've all had dreams of our husbands cheating on us, apparently it's common!!!

My only baby-related nightmares are that my arms are full of slippery little babies that I can't keep safe. But I've read that's actually just a representation of stress over daily responsibilities.
@theholmanherd Same, so many times I've woken with a dreamy content feeling after dreaming that we had a lovely little child, and then BAM, reality hits.
@buttmonkey34 Whoa that's crazy, so glad it turned out not to be true!!

theholmanherdBunnyBerry, my "nightmare" is waking up from a recurring dream where I have a little girl (about 2-4 years old in the dream)….
(And, not sure why the recurring dream is of a girl… of course, I'd be thrilled to have a little boy, too!) I think the dream is a manifestation of my inner hope, especially when I'm feeling outwardly hopeless and depressed about it all.
I also have other nightmares (usually being caught in some natural disaster) but I think those are general stress and anxiety related!
The only crazy dream I had was the night before we had our RE consult I had a dream that the RE told us we were having triplet boys and H did something to piss me off and I named them all Eunice. Talk about RE anxiety.
