Reasons Your Toddler is Crying

I thought it would be fun to do another jan13mamas version as I think we did this a while back. Why has your toddler cried lately?

Reasons my toddler has cried in the past few days:

-He had to come inside.

-He had to get in the bath. Then, because he had to get out of the bath.

-He was crying about something I can't remember, was stomping his feet, and slipped and fell onto his butt.

-I wanted to take his shirt off. Then because I put a new one on.

-He happened to see his blankets "ank-ees" in the washing machine. Oh gosh, the end of the world. (He doesn't ever use them except for bed/nap time. I never realized the attachment).

-He hit buttons on the remote and turned off Sesame Street

- because i took of her peed on pj bottoms

- because i turned off mickey- the same mickey we already saw 5x in a row

- because i wouldn't let her put that penny in her mouth

- or have coffee

- or because i touched her

Reasons my toddler has cried, the weekend edition:

He tried to carry every blanket he could find at the same time and kept tripping

He kept wanting to shake people hands while saying "peace" or "good morning" at church, especially during the quiet times

He didn't want his ice cream anymore, but when DH finished it he decided he wanted it again

When mean mommy tried to pass his playskool drill off as cool daddy's big drill while they "fixed" things around the house.  I wish I could have captured the, "are you serious mom?!" face he gave me.

Finally, and this one really did break my heart, he cried because he got stung by a wasp.  I'm glad DH and I were able to work as a team and stay calm because I think that helped him stay calm too.  He only cried for about 5 minutes, but darnit, I felt terrible that he was in that much pain, so little man got to eat applesauce while snuggling on the couch and watching Elmo.

Because her puzzle piece didn't fit in the hole the first time she tried it.

Because mom won't let her get hit by a car. 

Because I sucked the snot out of her nose.  Numerous times.

Because she isn't allowed to climb INTO the dish washer.

Because she couldn't pull up her "pants" (said pants were actually the new filter for her humidifier).

Oh and i forgot... because the mean lady at Target tried to take out the hanger of the new shirt we bought for her.

Haha these are all great! @spainy17 T cries because he can't climb into the dishwasher, too!

Seriously, they try and kill themselves daily.  It is amazing anyone makes it to adulthood.

Seriously, I spent my weekend trying not to laugh every time DD had a tantrum over something totally random!

-because I asked if he needed a new diaper

-he wants to climb off the back of the couch and fall between the couch and the window

-he wants to go outside and we can't

-he doesn't want to go inside because we have to

-because he wants me to sit on the floor so he can climb all over me and jump off my legs...or crawl under them...or head butt me...

-I won't let him touch the buttons on the dishwasher

-I won't let him take things or put things in the dishwasher

I could go on for days...

All weekend. Because we were in the house. And not somewhere else. All. WEEKEND.

The whining and crying this weekend were almost too much for both DH and me -- seriously. Thankfully, we got out for a few hours for a nearby wedding reception Saturday night while grandpa covered bedtime (I will not disclose how many adult beverages I had).

This is when I'm SO thankful I work full time. Love my girls, but holy s%@#$.

@flmama622‌ love the dog one! We don't have a dog but there was one at a picnic. DS loved to feed him but then would get so mad and cry when the dog ate the food. It made no sense and I actually couldn't help but laugh. Seriously toddlers...you all aren't even 2 yet!

-because I wouldn't let him play with the steak knives.

-because I took the knobs off of the gas range so he would quit turning on the stove and walking away with an open flame.

-because I won't let him take the kitchen broom to the playground.

God, where do I start?

-I had to put her down so I could pee (she climbed up on my lap anyway)
-I didn't let her grab her own poop during a diaper change
-I didn't let her run into traffic
-I didn't let her grab DH's razor in the bathroom
-I wouldn't let her run through tr parking garage

Bc we changed her diaper.
Bc we changed her brother's diaper.
Bc Nana left.
Bc we told her it was lunch time.

Because while walking the dog on the leash inside it got wrapped up around the rolling chair and he couldn't figure out how to unwrap it.

Because it was time to close the refrigerator door (he wasn't done rearranging)

Because I said it was Night nite time (screams all the way to the crib then snuggles his taggies and pillow and laughs once I put him in)

When anyone leaving the house (he will leave with anyone just to get out of the house)

For a while anytime I would go to buckle him in his car seat

Because it was time to come inside

Where do I start.
- Because we couldnt go outside
-Because we had to come back in the house
-Because I won't take the lid off her sippy cup
-Because she doesnt want me to change her poopy diaper
-Because her daddy gets out of her sight
-Because I cut her food up and she wants the whole thing to make a mess with.
So many more I cant remember at the moment. Oh shes so dramatic and wants to do everything for herself. She told me to not touch yesterday while I was chasing her down to change her poopy diaper. Then she pointed her finger at me and said you hush up mama, I couldnt help but laugh.

Mostly with us it's because there is a new baby in the house (1 week old) who happens to need my attention at times. but also because I had to… 

change her diaper

give her a bath

brush her teeth (worst fights ever)

hold her during a walk when a car was coming

put her down during the walk because she was getting heavy

I could go on forever

* Changing his diaper.
* Not making meals fast enough.
* Not letting him pull the cat's tail or bounce on the dog.
* Not letting him have the laptop/remote/anything else he wants.
* Going outside to put things in the car.... leaving him inside for a whole 30 seconds.
* Making him continue to hold my hand after we've made it down the front steps.

Because I had to cook the chicken before he could eat it for dinner. 

Because I couldn't play with him in the living room while I cooked said dinner.

Because I made him stop trying to climb on top of my kitchen table. 

Because it was time for bed. 

Because we were in traffic on the way home from daycare and I couldn't "go, go, go mama".

Because he doesn't want to be buckled in his car seat.

Because I told him to stop throwing his cars at me and the dog. 

Because I told him to not put the dogs toy in his mouth..gross.

Because i sucked the snot out of get nose so she could breathe.

Because i wouldn't let her plunge to her death going forward down our main stairs.

DD cries all the time for rediculous reasons, but yesterday when she was crying (I think I had been sitting on the floor with her and then laid down on the floor instead) I realized she was crying out "so mean! so mean!"

A little late to the party but...

When she dumped out the cornstarch she got some on her shoes.

She peed on her shoes. (She loves her shoes if you couldn't tell, but that's what you get if you must wear dress shoes while learning to use the potty)

Also, I took the end of the banana out of the peel.

Most ridiculous reason my son cries is when I offer food to him and he isn't hungry. He flips out!!

i wouldn't let her put her pee soaked pants on her head.....oh and i wouldn't let her walk into traffic....or fall backwards on concrete steps

-because I wouldnt let him play with my iphone in the bath tub

- because dh wouldnt give him a sip of his beer

- because I wouldnt take him outside (it was pouring rain at the time)

Today's: DS wanted a bath and was eating a cookie - he freaked out because he couldn't take the cookie INTO the bath!
