Mya or Maya?

To be pronounced "my-uh" Which spelling would you go with? I worry that Maya may be pronounced "may-uh" and that Mya would be pronounced "mee-uh". Also, what are your thoughts on this name overall? I'm pretty sure the middle name will be Elizabeth. Thanks in advance!

Maya, hands down. Mya looks misspelled, but it would be unclear to me if it was meant to be Maya or Mia. I'd most likely pronounce it the same as Mia. I do not believe there would be any great confusion how to pronounce Maya. Of course, I am trained as an archaeologist and did my thesis research on a Mayan site in Belize... So I am pretty familiar with that spelling/pronunciation.

    Maya

Mya looks misspelled to me. I would never think to pronounce it /MEE-uh/, though. Makes no sense.

    I'm with MJ.

  • Maya. Mya looks like a typo. In a professional setting, I would question a person who turned in a resume with their name spelled Mya. I would think they had made an error.
  • Definitely Maya. Mya just looks incomplete.
  • Maya hands down and I can't add anything else because everyone already said why

Maya, but I pronounce it may-uh. am I mispronouncing it?

I would pronounce Mya the same as Mia (me-ah)

ETA:What the heck? I say Maya like my-ah. Crazy keyboard or letters hate me :(

  • Maya like the poet Maya Angelou is the most "normal" spelling of the name that sounds "my-uh."

I really like Maia as a spelling though because I like dinosaurs (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maiasaura) but it's uncommon and bound to be misspelled/mispronounced.

I know a Mya who pronounces is "me-uh," and there's the 90's singer Mya pronounced "my-uh" so that's more hit and miss to me than Maya.
