@2MamazInSeattle‌, this is so exciting!!!! Good luck tomorrow, you will do amazing!

@RobertJane33‌, that's a hard one. The only thing you can really do is help ease her anxiety as much as possible by understanding her fears, and not downplaying them. Because in her eyes that's all that matters.

I know Jo is having issues trying to sooth my soul when I get upset about my Dad not being here to enjoy his grandson or grand daughter. And there is really not much she can say or do that really helps me. It's something I need to work through.
The main thing I ask of Jo is to not get upset with me when I start thinking irrational thoughts. Allow me to grieve and handle it how I need to.

I hope once I'm not so nauseous all the time I will enjoy this pregnancy and actually get excited. If I'm still not there by the 2nd trimester I'm going to go speak with a grief counselor and get things sorted out. I know I'm not in a good place regarding my Dad's death and might need additional help so that I don't sink into major depression once the baby comes.

    Happy note:
We had our first ultrasound this past Friday. :) doctor was very happy and said all looks good. So that's nice to know, and now I'm not cautiously optimistic.
Jo and I took a 'selfie' with the baby. lol

@2MamazInSeattle‌: so excited for you! I can feel your joy and anticipation in your check-in. I'll be thinking of you guys, and can't wait to hear how everything goes! K is doing pretty well these days. She's starting to really feel the kiddos move every night. I still haven't felt them, but soon! We also found a used stroller through a listserv for 25% retail price. Going to pick it up tonight!! K is also having a hard time with the idea of a shower. My mother and our closest friend asked to throw us one. Jews generally don't have one, but we decided that it made sense for a number of reasons. They sent us the proposed date last night and K got really upset. I had said to do it in October because with twins, earlier is better. She freaked and said it was too early, (28 weeks) that she was concerned something would happen to them after the shower. She is just really scared. I also think it just makes her miss her mom. So now we are trying to figure out what to do. I'm excited about a shower, though happy move it back. I also understand that she needs to grieve and miss her mom. What I'm having a hard time with is how to support her in terms of how scared she is. She is pregnant now, and I want to celebrate that, not worry all the time. She wants to be a laid back parent, and that will be tough if she is always concerned that something will go wrong. I don't want to see her twist herself in knots with anxiety. I understand there are no guarantees, but until we have reason to worry, I can't be afraid. Any thoughts or advice on how Incan support her?
So my two cents is to see if you can find a therapist for her who specializes in IF/Loss/Post-partum/Family counseling. I had one who fit this bill and she was fantastic for me.  I think you are right - she is in mega-grief over her mom, and the potential for the loss of the twins is likely paralyzing for her. It may be bigger than you in terms of supporting her. I don't mean to pull the therapy card for every problem, but after our 2nd tri loss, my therapist was a HUGE help until I past my loss date. I'm guessing she has some mom-loss processing to do, too, and this may help her along. Just my two centers though.

p.s. thanks for the well wishes!! eek!

@2mamazinseattle I joined this board shortly before you got pregnant with Simone and remember you from the TTC check-ins and when you said this was your last attempt before choosing a new path to motherhood and now tomorrow you are going in to be induced and bring Simone into this world.  Your strength is contagious and I just wanted to say how happy I am for you.

As for me morning sickness is pretty much gone and I am not as exhausted all the time.  Not sure if this is because I am getting close to second tri or if it is because of the thyroid meds I am now on.  This has been a week of pgal hell for me.  Not only do I have BV again and I am paranoid that it caused me to PPROM last time and will lead to the same results this time around but this thyroid thing wasn't expected either.  I think I have decided to agree to taking P17 assuming my insurance will cover it.  Looking forward to the first look u/s next week to know how baby is growing and that everything is okay.

Yay! @2mamazinseattle  so exciting (and also a bit jealous lol)

We are 33w4d today and I am so uncomfortable! Apparently the girls are in no hurry. Had our weekly checkup today and I was really hoping the OB would tell me a plan (and one that ends sooner than a month from now) but no such luck. He said he doesn't want to make plans yet, just see where things go. The girls are growing well and for that I am thankful. I am not sleeping, uncomfortable, tired of GD, and already over bed rest----I know it is so neg nancy sounding, but I am just struggling with things emotionally right now. Elise is breech (baby a) and Olivia is transverse (baby b). I know exactly when Elise moved out of the head down position b/c I could feel her struggling to move (tried coaxing her to stay, but she has make up her mind LOL).

As for plans for the week....NST/AFI appointments on Tue and Fri. Had my OB appointment today. Nothing else going on as I am still on bed rest.

    Hello all!
Things are good here. I fill like we have finally hit a pretty good stride. I have some back pain, and some pain in my downstairs bones, but other than that I feel pretty good!
This week we are gearing up for full house baby prep. We have been a little bit lax in that department and we are ready to start preparing our space! We need to minimize our belongings and maximize our organization!!

@2MamazinSeattle- how exciting!!  Today is THE day!!  We can't wait to hear an update. Oh my goodness!

We are chugging along.  31 weeks tomorrow and the latest our OB will let us go is 38 weeks since they're twins so 7 weeks max, likely sooner.  Been having BP spike issues but it's not staying high, thankfully, but we are hoping my body keeps these pumpkins in for at least another month.  The hospital is 2 hours from our house so we are REALLY hoping, among other reasons, for no extended NICU time.

Update since OB visit yesterday: Now officially on bedrest and OB not too confident we will make it to full-term.  Having lots of concerns with BP and protein in urine and signs that pre-eclampsia is rearing it's ugly head.  She suggested we have a bag packed and ready.  Please, babies, let's keep you in a few more weeks at least!  Only in 31st week!

This is a bit late but haven't had access to my computer all week (it's in for repairs after it jumped off my knee last week) So we're slowly catching up with news (hoping everyone is safe and well)

We're 21 weeks today and doing OK.  I'm still barely showing, which isn't much of a surprise to us as babies on my side of the family (especially girls) tend to be on the smaller side.  I know it seems silly but I admit to being a little disappointed that baby still looks like bloat at this point.  Baby continues to grow (currently measuring under average but growing at a satisfyingly steady rate) and is getting quite a bit of force behind his/her kicks (A felt her at 19w 6d)  The only thing that's new this week is that I have suddenly started feeling - not anxious but more...nervous.

Being more of an introvert, I don't take too easily to crowds and long periods of interaction anyway but I've developed strategies over the years to cope with this.  These days, if there's more than two people in the room with me or if someone wants interaction of any kind for more than five minutes, I start to feel crowded and this can lead to resentment then frustration to the point where I don't know whether to get short with people or cry.  I had relatively stable moods through the first tri so it seems a little strange to be getting them now when it should be settling down but oh, well.
