Re: Pregnancy Check In (August 18)
Well, we just got back from our last doctor's appointment and we got some really good news - I'm 2-3 cm dilated and so we do not have to do cervical priming overnight before my induction! I was super stressed about this because of a little PTSD from the laminaria for my D&E (basically shoving things into a closed cervix). So, perhaps some of my tactics have worked, or, it's just closer to when she'd come on her own and my body is doing its thing. I added Evening Primrose OIl, and plan to chow down on some pineapple today, as well as squeeze in one more acupuncture appointment.
So, the decision was made to go in TOMORROW at 7 a.m.!!!!!! I figured if things are ready in there, a day won't make much of a difference and one less day of anticipation/anxiety sounds pretty good to me at this point.
We talked a lot to the doctor about the induction and my not wanting it - but, in the end it feels like the safest move considering GD and my age. And, if I could check some of this anxiety I might actually get excited about meeting our baby!! J also really just wants her out in the world - I'll admit to having fears of something going wrong at this late stage and feel a little better about her being outside vs. inside myself.
So, today is about final preparations and last-minute to-do's. I will go to yoga or else the Mama Dance class at my yoga studio just because it seems like a good idea. I want to give the house a once-over, double check the hospital bag and just be sure the last minute items are all in there or close by. I have one work task to do, and about 4 thank you notes to write for gifts that have shown up in the past week or two.
Last night I made lactation cookies, they are in the freezer and ready! My friend said "I ate 4 a day and was spraying milk" - now of course if that was true there would be no LC's, just a lot of us eating cookies - but, figured it couldn't hurt! My mom brought me a lasagna I baked off and stored in individual portions, and my sister and I made about 4 dozen tamales and froze those a couple weeks ago. I'm doing pre-portioned packets of lactation oatmeal for breakfasts too, so that is on the list today. Phew. So many people advised us to have food at the ready, so feeling good this is done. Lots of little stuff, but it will feel good to have everything in order.

5 medicated IUIs w/ RE (March - July 2013) = BFN
Fresh IVF Cycle in September 2013 resulted in 18 mature eggs, 16 fertilized, 12 made it to day 5. Transfer of 2 Grade A blastocysts on 9/15/13, and 10 embryos in the freezer! *****BFP on 9/25/13 - betas: @10dp5dt = 232; @12dp5dt = 465; @15dp5dt = 1,581 *********William George born June 4, 2014*********@RobertJane33, that's a hard one. The only thing you can really do is help ease her anxiety as much as possible by understanding her fears, and not downplaying them. Because in her eyes that's all that matters.
I know Jo is having issues trying to sooth my soul when I get upset about my Dad not being here to enjoy his grandson or grand daughter. And there is really not much she can say or do that really helps me. It's something I need to work through.
The main thing I ask of Jo is to not get upset with me when I start thinking irrational thoughts. Allow me to grieve and handle it how I need to.
I hope once I'm not so nauseous all the time I will enjoy this pregnancy and actually get excited. If I'm still not there by the 2nd trimester I'm going to go speak with a grief counselor and get things sorted out. I know I'm not in a good place regarding my Dad's death and might need additional help so that I don't sink into major depression once the baby comes.
Happy note:
We had our first ultrasound this past Friday. doctor was very happy and said all looks good. So that's nice to know, and now I'm not cautiously optimistic.
Jo and I took a 'selfie' with the baby. lol

"Things separate from their stories have no meaning. They are only shapes. Of a certain size and color. A certain weight. When their meaning has become lost to us they no longer have even a name. The story on the other hand can never be lost from its place in the world for it is that place.” ― Cormac McCarthy, The Crossing

@2mamazinseattle I joined this board shortly before you got pregnant with Simone and remember you from the TTC check-ins and when you said this was your last attempt before choosing a new path to motherhood and now tomorrow you are going in to be induced and bring Simone into this world. Your strength is contagious and I just wanted to say how happy I am for you.
As for me morning sickness is pretty much gone and I am not as exhausted all the time. Not sure if this is because I am getting close to second tri or if it is because of the thyroid meds I am now on. This has been a week of pgal hell for me. Not only do I have BV again and I am paranoid that it caused me to PPROM last time and will lead to the same results this time around but this thyroid thing wasn't expected either. I think I have decided to agree to taking P17 assuming my insurance will cover it. Looking forward to the first look u/s next week to know how baby is growing and that everything is okay.

We are 33w4d today and I am so uncomfortable! Apparently the girls are in no hurry. Had our weekly checkup today and I was really hoping the OB would tell me a plan (and one that ends sooner than a month from now) but no such luck. He said he doesn't want to make plans yet, just see where things go. The girls are growing well and for that I am thankful. I am not sleeping, uncomfortable, tired of GD, and already over bed rest----I know it is so neg nancy sounding, but I am just struggling with things emotionally right now. Elise is breech (baby a) and Olivia is transverse (baby b). I know exactly when Elise moved out of the head down position b/c I could feel her struggling to move (tried coaxing her to stay, but she has make up her mind LOL).
As for plans for the week....NST/AFI appointments on Tue and Fri. Had my OB appointment today. Nothing else going on as I am still on bed rest.
Married to M and proud mothers to Olivia and Elise (8/19/2014) and to our fur-babies: Capone (pitbull), Jax and Atticus (cats)
Things are good here. I fill like we have finally hit a pretty good stride. I have some back pain, and some pain in my downstairs bones, but other than that I feel pretty good!
This week we are gearing up for full house baby prep. We have been a little bit lax in that department and we are ready to start preparing our space! We need to minimize our belongings and maximize our organization!!
@2mamazinseattle I can't believe this! How exciting. Strong vibes to you on your transition to parenthood! See you on the other side!
