SIL is pregnant. One of the main names she likes is Allison. The only problem with it is that her dd's name is Addison so they are very similar in spelling. I actually didn't even notice it until my brother brought it up.
They still really like the name though. What are your thoughts on names that LOOK similar but don't necessarily SOUND similar?
Re: Allison and Addison
I agree, they both look and sound similar. The only difference between the names is those 2 letters.
AL uh son
AD uh son
What am I missing?
I agree that it's a terrible idea. You wanted people's thoughts, that's not rude.
Way too matchy. How do they not sound similar? I'd go back to the drawing board for DD2. If they must be matchy, at least choose a different A name that isn't so similar in sound and spelling.

"Everybody wants to be happy. Nobody wants to feel pain but you can't have a rainbow without the rain."
Same first letter and ending sound - they're way too close for siblings.
It reminds me of Leah from Teen Mom naming her kids Aleeah and Aliannah...they're way too close (and the spellings are awful!)
