Wow! Have the last 5 days been a whirlwind! We went in with expectant mom Tuesday for induction, she was nowhere near ready so they tried getting things going overnight. Wednesday morning when doctor came in he discovered the baby had turned, she was 39 week 5 days, and as of the Friday before baby was head down. So we prepared ourselves for a C-section, which she absolutely did not want. Baby boy was born Wednesday evening, I was in the delivery room, it was amazing, expectant mom did wonderful. The next 48 hour hospital stay was extremely hard, we sat back and let her spend as much time with him as she could, we knew we would get the rest of his life with him, but it was still hard. She had visitors, we opted not to have any of our own, which I believe was the best decision. We stayed at the hospital, the staff was great. When it was time for discharge, we all left together, my husband and I, birthmom, and the newest member of our family! Birthparents will be signing TPR this week, baby is home with us, I've talked to birthmom several times since we've been home. She of course wants updates on the baby, but I think more than anything we've became such good friends, that she calls to chit chat. It's so great! Baby is perfectly healthy and is so good! Besides the anxiety at the hospital, which wasn't necessary, but completely uncontrollable, everything went better than we could have ever dreamed it could. Thank you all for the support and prayers!!
