TTC after 35

Conflicting info - CM question

Hi all - My CM seemed to indicate I was O a few days ago, however, I just got a positive OPK (Wondfo) yesterday afternoon. Haven't noticed fertile-like CM in the last 2 days. Anyone else have this happen? It's my first month temping and I don't think I have O'd yet based on that info. Thanks!

Re: Conflicting info - CM question

  • Yes, I've had this since I started charting two months ago. My CM seems to be fertile around CD10, but I don't O until CD14 according to temps, O pain and cycle length. I figure I'll just use pre-seed to make sure my CM doesn't interfere and also assume a slightly longer O window instead of trying to nail down the exact date (i.e. recognizing O may happen anywhere between CD 10 and CD 14).  My inclination is to trust my temps and O pain, but it can't hurt to treat the preceding days (with fertile CM) as high possibilities that O is actually occurring then.  I'm only about to start using Wondfos this month, so can't help there, but I'll be curious to see other responses!

  • CM can be a little mercurial. It doesn't always play by its own rules. The OPK is probably slightly more accurate, but after a couple months of temping you'll have a better idea of what is going on.

  • Yes this has happened to me. Sometimes our bodies do do the right things at the right time in order
  • CM is a Secondart fertility awareness indicator, it alone does Not indicate O.  Best wishes and I'd think about charting my temperature if I were you as that is the best way to confirm ovulation, even OPK's only give you notice that you've surged not that you've o'ed.
  • Happens to me too.

July 2014 - RE Visit #1: Eggs look good, Endometrioma on R ovary, HSG showed blocked R tube close to ovary. DH SA normal
DX: Endometriosis probably the IF cause and gunking up tubes.  Since egg reserve is high, RE says I can wait a couple months and then get laproscopic surgery to remove endo & clear tube.  If that doesn't help then move to IVF.
Dec 2014 - Saw new RE - does not recommend surgery on tube as it isn't likely to help.  Doubts I have endometriosis.  My endometrioma shrunk to neglible size (yay!)
    Seriously considering IVF in March/April

  • I tend to have the best CM two or three days before O. Today is O and I'm having mostly creamy/sticky for some reason. It's annoying!

  • It's the same for me, @URMySunshine77 Glad to know I'm not alone!
  • I am experiencing the same thing right now....egg white cm but negative opk...this is my first month for charting all of it so I agree that it is very confusing and frustrating when things don't line up. My temp is so up and down I can't imagine what the spike will looklike
