So I refuse to buy a new couch unless the one we have is broken or were done for sure having children. I have a cranberry couch that I love and were renovating so I'm thinking of livingroom ideas and we were wanted to keep the cranberry furniture and dark wood and do navy accents and go old world nautical. But I'm thinking maybe something lighter would be more child friendly? But the house is a converted Victorian and the livingro was once the parlor so it's small and square. So the point of this post is to ask if anyone has bought slip covers and can suggest a brand or retailer in case I do change the color scheme. I'm afraid of slip covers looking like I threw a sheet over my couch. Also if anyone would like to spam me with your lovely livingrooms I'd appreciate it. I'm asking you ladies because you all have the best advice and I only have one mom friend and she has always lied with her MIL so she won't be helpful. Sorry to babble sleep deprivation is getting me.

I dont have any personal experience working with them or the process of how its done but I know that IKEA will do custom slip covers. SO's sister has them on their couches and they look great. No sheet over the couch look.

My mom had slip covers made for our sofas growing up. She went to a professional upholsterer. They came out really great and lasted a long long time. Other people I know have just bought ready made slipcovers from the store. I feel like those never stay in the right place and tend to look sloppy. But that's just my experience.

I had some on our old grey couches in Chicago, they were beige. I got them from bed bath & beyond and they looked great. They do need a few days to hang to get the wrinkles out, but I thought they worked well

Thanks ladies! I will try ikea or BBB and if I don't like the way they look I will see if there are any uplsterers in the area.
