thinking ahead

Who else is a crazy person like myself and is thinking about preschool and kindergarten prep already? Im a FTM, so this stuff is all new to me and I find it so exciting. I know which schools are in my zone now, and I looked up the PTA info for her future elementary school (K-2). They have a kindergarten curriculum meeting for parents this month...I kinda want to sneak in and find out what they do! And for preschool, still looking at what is around...discovering what montessori is and all that. Not sure I want to pay $6500 a year for Montessori though.

I am leaning towards a public preschool or homeschooling for preschool, but will have to plan for socializing in a classroom setting if I do the latter.

I think I'm thinking about this stuff because I'm bored reading about sleep and eating habits and milestones, and not just from here.

I'm also starting a list of potential learning activities to do with baby as she gets older. My husband is a software engineer and we know at some point when she is literate he will be trying to teach her how to program. He is a great teacher, but we'll see if she comes after me (can't write a program to save my life) or him.

DD1 starts 3 y/o preschool this fall....glad we will get priority by the time DD2 is ready because we were on 4 waiting lists the past year until this spot opened up at the last minute...crazy

My almost three year old ended up going to a special pre-school the local public school did at age 2.5. Dropping my 2.5 year old off at an elementary school... yeah...that was hard.


My point is that these moments might not be as far away as you think.
