Reddened neck folds

We have always had trouble with milk getting trapped in DS neck folds. Before it just smelled bad until his bath but now, his folds are really red. Anyone have this problem? I was thinking diaper cream since they are both rashes from wetness. I'm a nurse and we put this zeasorb powder on the elderly with reddened folds but not sure if that will work for baby.

I think I've heard of people using aquaphore for that but don't hold me to it.

We put sudocrem on them. You have to make sure it's all dry after a bath too. That will make it worse.

If the diaper cream doesn't work, it could be yeast. If it ends up being that- nystatin from the dr works really quick.

I use coconut oil on it and it clears up pretty quick! We have the same problem, I always feel bad when I notice it but it usually clears up quickly.

I use aquafor as well, clears overnight!

Yes to Aquafor! At night I cleaned and dried DS neck, put aquafor on it, and the next day it was clear and no smell!

I have had good luck with aquaphor and coconut oil. It is so hard to get in there and keep it from getting irritated.

Thanks. We tried diaper cream and it seems to be working. Now the next thing will be washing that off. It is so hard to get in there! Plus he hates it and I feel like I'm choking him.

No you need to dry it out not keep it wet with aquaphor. Corn starch after bath works!

We use our diaper rash cream on any sort of rash DS gets and it usually works after 1 time.

If it's yeast I second nystatin. We got it for a diaper rash issue and I use it as needed in his armpits which get red and have a yeasty discharge, it works wonders.

I would try the diaper creams, but stay away from zeasorb. I imagine like baby powder that would be a no-no due to risk of baby inhaling it.

We used the healing balm from Honest Company and it cleared it right up!

Aquaphor after every bath!!! Healed it completely! We had this problem too!

We used lotromin as recommended by our pediatrician. Our LO had yeast tho... But it works!!

We use CJ's BUTTer works for tons of things not just as a diaper cream. Also I dont know what kind of bib your using but I suggest the tommee tippee ones they have that roll at the top to block milk from flowing into the neck folds.
