WTF appointment - advice needed

I'm going Wednesday to talk to my dr about our plan going foward. He has been very passive when I try to ask about more testing.

He said that he is open to a PGD discussion. Also I am going to have an endometrial biopsy before my next FET. I have 6 embryos and I want to know that other than the biopsy is there any other testing or a different protocol I can ask him about? Anything different that can be done in a FET?

The only "issue" we have had is on our first retrieval, only 1 embryo made it to an early blast, the others arrested on day 3. Our second fresh cycle we did a 3 day transfer and froze the rest on that same day.

My Dr didn't seem too concerned about it but i certainly was.

Any suggestions for questions to ask are very appriciated it.

  • **Siggy warning***

I know some ladies have had discussions with their REs about thawing all their 3d embryos to see how many make it to blast. I, too, would be worried about that based on your prior experience, although cycles can vary a lot with respect to embryo quality. Perhaps it's worth discussing that option with him?

How much of the advanced testing have you done? All the clotting disorders, immune things, and etc.? I would ask if there are additional tests like that he would recommend, and as PP said even consider a consult with a second doctor for other ideas.

Has your lining done well in prior FET cycles?

    Good luck to you!

  • This is my second RE. The first I only did IUIs with. When we decided to move onto IVF I wanted the RE with the highest pregnancy rates and that's where I am now.

I haven't had any advanced testing. Only a blood test to see if DH or I were carriers or had any genetic disorders and we were not.

My lining has always been very good for transfers, although my periods are extremely short. A day or 2 at most and only heavy for a couple hours and then goes to very light. I have always wondered if it was an issue but neither of my REs thought it was.

I plan to see what further testing my Dr is willing to do and then if I don't feel satisfied I will seek another opinion. I really love the group but I do feel that my RE is always brushing off my worries because I am "young" and everything always seems to be healthy.
