Happy weekend ladies. So dd has what seems to be the hand foot mouth disease. No blisters in her mouth yet but she chews on her hands which have some. Can they spread that way? Any experience with this thing? Thanks

If she has it, she has it. It won't spread to her mouth by chewing on her hands. But ensure she's not getting dehydrated. If they get sores in their mouth, the sores can hurt so kiddos quit eating and drinking. Good luck! My then 4 wk old and his then almost 2 yo sister both had it. DD had one day when she seemed to feel pretty crappy, but other than that we got off easy.

HFM is very contagious so keep up on washing your hands, etc.  I ended up with it when DS had it.  I have never been so miserable. 

Alternate between Tylenol and ibuprofen to help with fever and pain.  

She may not want to eat.  Just make sure she stays hydrated. 

Really all you can do is keep her comfy until it passes.
