We went to a combo breastfeeding/ labor and delivery class. I found it helpful; being a FTM I got a lot of information about what to expect, what to do if I have trouble, where to go for further support, etc.
I didn't take one but there was a lactation nurse who stopped by the first couple of time to check on us and make sure we were doing alright with breastfeeding. Couldn't hurt
Definitely wouldn't hurt! However like a previous post said, a lot of the childbirth classes cover everything you need to know these days, from preterm labor to car seat safety, to breast feeding and of course labor and delivery. So if you are going to one of those classes you may want to see what they cover first.
I went to a La Leche League meeting earlier this week. It was good info, but maybe not quite my style. I'll probably go back a few more times just to get the info, but not sure I'll stay active once LO is here.
I took a 4 hour class today. I learned a good bit and became familiar with all the BF resources that my hospital provides. I would recommend taking one.
