October 2014 Moms

Well, it's official...

I have reached the point in pregnancy where I'm so ridiculously uncomfortable that I'm ready for it to be over. I must say, at 33 weeks, I made it farther in this pregnancy than the last. I plan on spending this weekend finalizing some baby shopping, packing my bag, and stocking the pantry. Everything else over the next 7 weeks will be Internet ordered and husband assembled. Hibernation begins!

Re: Well, it's official...

  • 33 weeks has been a hard week for me too. The pressure of getting ready for maternity leave is too much.

  • I'm not quite done yet. I'm still only 30 weeks. But I have passed the point where I felt sad that the pregnancy would be over soon.

Because I'm a FTM, there are so many unknowns that have me a little freaked out.

  • We will be moving when I am at 32 weeks and that means we will have nursery set up probably around 34-35 weeks. My shower isn't until I am 36 weeks. Did I do this whole pregnancy wrong?? I've always been the 'stay up all night to write a paper/pack an apartment' type but I am feeling that is not the way to go about baby arrivals. Oh well - if she's like her momma she'll be late anyway.
  • Yup--I'm trying so hard not to let those feelings take over. They started at 30 weeks--at 33.5 now and still keeping the hardcore "I'm done!!" At bay......but it's getting more difficult
  • I am only 31 weeks and I am so torn between wanting this baby to stay in and wanting to be done with this pregnancy.  Obviously keeping her in is more important, but sometimes I just think enough already.

I could have written this word for word.

I feel for you! My shower with my son was at 25 weeks and I'm so glad it was. It gave me time to get everything organized and finished shopping before I was too uncomfortable. I'm horrible at being pregnant! It's a bit harder this time around because I can't just relax... I have an 18 month old to chase!

That's what I tell myself though - some women are doing this with one or more children so I don't have it that bad.
I had little choice with the shower since it wasn't up to me as much as family but it will force us to set up the gifts we get right away!
  • I was telling my husband just this morning that it feels like I've been pregnant forever. FOREVER.

  • I'm 33.5 weeks and I'm ready to be done. I am pretty uncomfortable, but still functional :P ... I am just really anxious & excited to meet our little girl. This pregnancy seemed to go a lot quicker than my other two. (So far! I'm sure the next 6 weeks are going to take forever.)

I'm feeling the same way. I totally misjudged the timing. Shower at 35 weeks. We have ABSOLUTELY nothing. Trying not to freak out because I know it'll all work out. (Right?) I hope I didn't just jinx it...

Pretty much this! Plus after being pregnant three times in three years, I am certainly ready for October!

  • With DS, I delivered at 28w4d after being on bedrest starting at 24w1d and actually swore I would never complain about being pregnant because it really is a blessing to carry until full term. But here I am at 32w1d and feeling pretty miserable. It seriously makes me feel like the worst person ever to complain. I know first hand that an inside baby is better than an outside NICU baby but can't help it. It is so hot and I can't even do the dishes without getting winded. Booooooo.
Here is to 5 more weeks and 5.5 days.
    (Who is counting though?!?)

  • I'm counting down the days. Being pregnant during the summer is thee worst. I want him to come when he is ready but I'm so anxious to meet him.

  • We ran into friends today we hadn't seen since April and they were like you are still pregnant?!?! Yup, 40 weeks is a long time. Sleeping is hard.

  • I was just having myself a pity party about a week ago on here for the same reasons. I feel you all. I am 33 weeks and I have just given up on sleep. I know the end result will be worth it, but I am just so miserable. Hang in there ladies....we are in the home stretch now!
  • Just tried on bathing suit tops for our little getaway. All but one was completely indecent. Funny! But sad. I'm over the giant tatas. Over it hard.

  • I'm not 'over it' just yet, but could happily do without the astonished stares when I tell people I'm not due until October. Yes, I realize I'm huge, but it's #2 and I'm really short.

My MIL visited last weekend - upon seeing me she shouted "Oh my God you're HUGE!". Then proceeded to inform me that she is down to 110 pounds and she thinks she may be skinny enough now. Seriously. %-(

  • At 30 weeks, I feel like I've been pregnant forever. I'm ready for this little one to come but I'm also scared at the same time.
I'll be 34 weeks at my baby sprinkle. DH and I haven't really set up the nursery yet because we're waiting till after the sprinkle.
As much as Im ready for this little one to come already, I also don't want her to arrive early at all.

  • I am having the most severe lower back pain. I limp when I walk AND I have a 2 year old to chase after so it's been difficult.... I don't understand how this baby can only be a couple pounds. It feels like a large rock reding on my spine. I def would love for this baby to come a few weeks early but I'm sure I will go to my due date again.

My favorite is the men who say this - like they can speak from experience. Or ask and answer their own question "When are you due? Couple weeks?"

  • I'm 33 weeks too. I feel like I can handle being pregnant a little while longer, but I am so DONE with work. I'm not sure I can pretend to give a crap for 7 more weeks, let alone actually accomplish anything...

  • Oh good lord I am with you..... This is my third and last and worst pregnancy ever .... I was diagnosed with melanoma while pregnant... Put on bed rest for previa and for the last 10 weeks having what the doctors assume are gallbladder issues... The pain I am in is so overwhelming that I have been just depressed.... I just had my 33 week ultrasound and the baby is breech putting his head in my ribs and causing more pain then I even thought was possible to the gallbladder area... I know it's better for the baby in then out but he's now 4.9 lbs and I'm at the point where I am going to beg to have my c section ASAP .... I can't take this anymore I just cant
