That's so sad. Getting 3-4 hour stretches of sleep at week 1 is amazing. After the 4MW, that's roughly how LO is sleeping now and my H and I are over the moon about how great he's doing. What these doctors and parents are doing to these babies just seem cruel.

I felt my blood pressure rising as I read this. What qualified pediatrician would tell parents to do such a thing to their newborn?? EBF babies HAVE to be fed frequently because breastmilk is digested quickly. Can't believe those parents, either. They shouldn't have had a baby if they aren't willing to feed their baby when he's hungry, not when it's most convenient for them. So disgusted!!!

This type of thing can kill babies. It's sick and sad and cruel and was just so beyond unbelievable that I wasn't sure they were serious. Worst advice EVER!

Ppl are flaming the doctors' book on Amazon. Has anyone actually read it?

I am also disgusted with this practice. Shame on the pediatricians pushing this craps and shame on Fox news for publicizing this terrible advice for poor misinformed parents. They need to report a rebuttal of some kind...
