After a forced and difficult 24hour long induction process with my j12 baby at 41 weeks and 5 days I am still in disbelief that DD actually came on her own last Sunday, August 10 at 2:17am! Right at 41 weeks even. (Induction was on the calendar for the next Thursday and we were almost ready to accept that it would come to that again)
We had taken Bradley classes and were hoping for a med-free birth. I labored at home as long as possible before making the excruciatingly long 40 minute drive to the hospital. Apparently I was handling things well because DH kept thinking they might send us home- I KNEW that wasn't happening, and arrived at an 8! All of the nurses went into a frenzy and our baby was in my arms less than 30 minutes later! It was incredible!
DS is adjusting really well, he absolutely adores his baby sister and besides being a bit whiney and rambunctious he has been amazing. I was afraid he would be territorial or jealous but it's just the opposite- he gets concerned when I'm not holding or feeding the baby! "Mama hold baby" and "baby drink milk" get said a lot

and he likes to smell her, which I find super adorable.
After BFing for 18 months I'm a little surprised at how difficult it's been- every baby really is different. She is so much sleepier and having more trouble with latch than my medicated birth- go figure!
Anyway, I just wanted to update y'all and say hi! I'll post some pics when I can get to a computer.
Oh and her name is Addie

8lbs 12 oz 20.5" long. And she's perfect. Looks so much like big brother did!
